I say let Valimont start through April, if they don't see a change move him to the pen. Give him 5 weeks to try that out and cut him if the adjustments are not there.

In the wake, and literal waking of myself in this historic day in Twins Territory, I wanted to revisit an off-season blueprint that I think Mackey and Judd's "Write that down" session would have been proud of.
Was it a perfect parlay in the quest for Correa, Gray, and Bassitt--no; however, I think this is an approach worth revisiting especially when two stretch predictions came true.

Checking out IKF baseball savant page I am not impressed. I recall he won a GG at third in 2020, but looking at his metrics from 2021 in OAA, like why not just sign Niko Goodrum?

Sano's bat took off last season after the league cracked down on pitchers.  So, I think that solves his biggest problem at the plate.  I suspect Sano will have a big year this year.  He is primed to have a 40 HR 100 RBI season.

Ryan_K got a reaction from TwinsDr2021 in Are the Twins an unattractive destination for FAs?
I don't think it's attractive. A winning team plays April through October here. April till Mid May are not fun and mid September on is cold by evening. It has high taxes. While the summers are nice most weeks they are playing night games 6 days a weeks, so not a ton of time to enjoy a lake.

I think the organization is fine to good, a big focus is on culture, but if you can get good culture, plus warm weather and low taxes it's an easy choice.
My prediction within 5 years Miami will be a FA destination given the money moving into Florida

While Balazovic is ranked in the 40s and it might not seem great, I counted and he is in the top 9 of all pitching prospects. He was listed as the top of the mid rotation or more guys with the potential to be more with refined command.
Well, Gleeman noted that his control lagged because he was working on the new splitter vs change up, so I think we might have a number 2 guy i.e. Berries, Sonny Gray. Ideally in the 15 to 30 range for SP War.

Last high point, since he is from Canada the cold April and late September starts should be more comfortable to him vs others.

Bold call, I'll say Elijah Green falls to us at 8 because of his swing and miss concerns similar to Jo Adell in 2017

With several FA SP signing reasonable deals, I think the FO thought the prospects would be ready sometime this past year, so they brought in guys to eat innings until they came up. unfortunately injury appeared, so I think they will run it back with Bundy, Dobnak, Ryan, and Over plus probably Pineada in the hopes to eat innings until the prospects appear this year. 2023 will probably be when we swing big again as Donaldson would only have a year left and Sano would be gone or on a cheaper contract.

I think it shouldn't be viewed as two lost year. Rather two years spent differently. One of the biggest issues was his swing, instead of meaningless minor league games he got an entire season of coaching and training by the staff to sort it out without distractions. The ACL hurt, but that doesn't mean he didn't chat with Simmons about how he preps, maybe he learned Spanish to help communicate, and there is VR to help with pitch recognition out of the hand.

What I am trying to say is, the kid didn't spend the last two years playing X Box, he had the opportunity to train in ways other players simply don't have the time for and that can make him a long term impact player.
    Good luck Royce
