  1. The Twins have now reached 30 wins on the season. They did not get their 30th win until June 20th last season they had 41 losses at that point.
  2. Good Day, aTwinsFanInMaryland here today with one thread for two games against the Detroit Tigers. The big news of the day is Carlos (C4) Correa landed on the COVID-IL, joining fellow teammates Joe Ryan & Gilberto Celestino (insert look of disgust). Also, in Game 2, we will see Roger Clemens youngest son, Kody, make his MLB debut for the Tigers. Roster Moves: With Correa on the COVID-IL, we will see the MLB debut of Jermaine Palacios in game 1 today, playing shortstop. Important to note, because of COVID-IL rules, Palacios can be removed from the 40-man at a later time without having to clear waivers. Also, Cole Sands was added to the active roster as the 27th man for the double header. The Pitchers: GAME 1: LHP #31 Devin Smeltzer (1-0, 1.04 ERA, 8K’s) vs RHP #51 Rony García (0-0, 3.00 ERA, 22K’s) GAME 2: RHP #21 Cole Sands (0-0, 6.75 ERA, 6K’s) vs LHP #43 Joey Wentz (0-1, 20.25 ERA, 1K) quick note: Devin Smeltzer is coming off of an excellent outing against the Royals! He went 7 innings gave up only 2 hits and gave up zero runs. Look for him to build upon the momentum he has gained. Cole Sands will pitch the second game of the double header. With Sands making his MLB debut this season he has yet to face the Tigers. The Lineup: (Game 2 Lineup will be posted later in today’s thread) Twins: 1. Luis Arraez 1B 2. Byron Buxton CF 3. Max Kepler DH 4. Jorge Polanco 2B 5. Trevor Larnach RF 6. Gary Sánchez C 7. Nick Gordon LF 8. Gio Urshela 3B 9. Jermaine Palacios SS Tigers: 1. Willi Castro LF 2. Jonathan Schoop 2B 3. Miguel Cabrea DH 4. Javier Báez SS 5. Jeimer Candelario 3B 6. Spencer Torkelson 1B 7. Eric Haase C 8. Daz Cameron RF 9. Derek Hill CF Draft Kings Odds: GAME 1: Twins (-145) Tigers (+125) o/u 8.5 GAME 2: Twins (-140) Tigers (+120) On This Day In Twins History:
  3. No one else on planet earth other than Buxton attempts to tag up there. Elite speed.
  4. Not necessarily. But there’s been enough hype around Lewis to maybe see a slight uptick in attendance. Correa is obviously a must watch.
  5. Can you say boosted ticket sales? Makes me wish I lived back in Minneapolis.
  6. Good Evening, aTwinsFanInMaryland here again and happy to bring you tonight’s game thread. Your (15-10) Minnesota Twins take on the (9-16) Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park @ Camden Yards in the finale of a 4 game series. Last night was rough so let’s hope tonight is more fun! The Twins have a chance to win the four game series. They will have to do it without manager Rocco Baldelli and players Luis Arraez (not in the original lineup) and Dylan Bundy (pitched last night) Roster Moves: As previously mentioned Luis Arraez & Dylan Bundy placed on the COVID-19 protocol list. No immediate roster moves willed by made to replace them due to the time crunch. Expect moves prior to the start of the Oakland series tomorrow. The Pitchers: RHP #17 Chris Archer (0-0, 2.93 ERA, 14K’s) vs RHP #80 Spencer Watkins (0-0, 2.55 ERA, 8K’s) *quick note: Archer has a career mark of 6-10 against the Orioles with an ERA of 5.05 in 21 games. Spenser Watkins has never faced Minnesota. The Lineup: Twins: 1. Byron Buxton CF 2. Carlos Correa SS 3. Jorge Polanco 2B 4. Max Kepler RF 5. Gio Urshela 3B 6. Gary Sánchez DH 7. Trevor Larnach LF 8. Jose Miranda 1B 9. Ryan Jeffers C Orioles: 1. Cedric Mullins CF 2. Trey Mancini DH 3. Anthony Santander RF 4. Austin Hayes LF 5. Ryan Mountcastle 1B 6. Rougned Odor 2B 7. Ramon Urías 3B 8. Robinson Chirinos C 9. Jorge Mateo SS quick note: Carlos Correa has been heating up at the plate recently as he in now on a 7 game hitting streak after his 2 run homer in last nights game. He will look to extend that streak tonight. Draft Kings Odds: Twins (-150) Orioles (+130) o/u 8.5 On This Day In Twins History:
  7. Not sure there are any but for the fans of the musical “Hamilton” it looks like Jose Miranda has a famous cousin…
  8. Good Evening, aTwinsFanInMaryland here and happy to bring you tonight’s game thread. Your (14-9) Minnesota Twins take on the (8-15) Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park @ Camden Yards in game 2 of a 4 game series. Last night, I had the chance to take my wife and daughter to the game and see a Twins win. An added bonus, Chris Paddack threw us one of his warm-up balls (see attached photo). A fun night overall. Now on to tonight’s game! Roster Moves: No announced roster moves today. Roster stands at 26 men (14 pitchers, 12 batters) The Pitchers: Each teams ace makes there way to the pitching rubber. RHP #41 Joe Ryan (3-1, 1.17 ERA, 23 IP, 25K’s) vs LHP #50 Bruce Zimmerman (1-1, 0.93 ERA, 19.1 IP, 21K’s) quick note: There’s potential for us to have another excellent pitching matchup tonight as both pitchers have excellent numbers thus far. We all know what Joe Ryan has done so far but Bruce Zimmerman has shined as he replaces John Means (tommy john) as the staff ace. The offense could be at a premium. The Lineup: Twins: 1. Byron Buxton CF 2. Carlos Correa SS 3. Jorge Polanco 2B 4. Gio Urshela 3B 5. Jose Miranda 1B 6. Gary Sanchez DH 7. Max Kepler RF 8. Ryan Jeffers C 9. Gilberto Celestino LF Orioles: 1. Cedric Mullins CF 2. Trey Mancini DH 3. Anthony Santander RF 4. Ryan Mountcastle 1B 5. Austin Hayes LF 6. Rougned Odor 2B 7. Tyler Nevin 3B 8. Anthony Bemboom C 9. Jorge Mateo SS quick note: For the Twins, Urshela get’s the start at 3rd as Miranda moves over to 1st in his second career game, Miranda will be looking for his first Major League hit in tonight’s game. For the Orioles, Trey Mancini returns to the lineup after missing the previous 3 games with rib soreness. Draft Kings Odds: Twins (-165) Orioles (+145) o/u 7 On This Day In Twins History:
