Whitey333 got a reaction from TwinsDr2021 in Did Nick Gordon Do Enough?
To me Gordon deserves a spot on the club.  They way they have jerked him around all year he did whatever they needed and did it well.  Unfortunately the Twins have a reputation for not treating their young players fair.  They leave them dangle in the minors for years then USE that person for their own benefits.  You don't USE players you develop them and promote them

The Twins sure put themselves in a tough spot.  They really messed up the pitching staff and yet I'm worried they will return to dollar store replacements.  But if they use very inexperienced starting pitchers you can bank on a 90-100 loss season in 2022 and beyond a couple of years.  We have a hole slew of "can't miss" pitching prospects.  Or is it suspects?  Anyway we better hope at least a couple pan out.  Or we may think 2021 was a good season.

I totally agree that we need to keep Rogers for all of the above mentioned reasons.  But who knows what the current "brain trust" will do.  As to worrying about the payroll budget, who knows what that is?  Because these signings fit into our fantasy baseball budget doesn't mean it will with Twins.  People on here talk about a 150 million payroll.  That would be nice.  But how do we know that?  What if the payroll is reduced to 90-100 mil?  Then what?  I have no clue which way twins will go.

You must be another Twins FO apologist.  Look I hope Ryan turns out great.  But if all he throws is a fastball 75% of the time at an average speed of 91 mph he won't last.  Fleece the Rays?  Get serious!

I agree that Buxton is good.  However he is not great.  He is a career, yes did you see that, career ..247 hitter.  Don't even think of putting in with Carew and Puckett. Buxton was flailing away at the plate not too unlike Sano just very recently.  I like him and hope he stays but he hasn't proven much of anything yet except how to miss 63% of his teams games the past 4 years.  Don't compare to Donaldson big contract.  Yes he's older and has had some injuries but he has a very good and productive background.  Buxton does not.  Find a way to sign him but let's be reasonable and realistic.

Great comments on Rocco.  I believe he has made his share of mistakes "managing" the team.  Some are definitely very questionable.  I also think to blame their 9-15 start on bad luck is wrong as well.  It was more indicative of future poor play. Come on bad luck?  Get real!  Baldelli, although part of the problem is also part of the solution.

Wow.  Excellent article and great comments by all.  The biggest take away I get from this is the next couple of years for the Twins seems very bleak no matter which way they go.  They dug themselves a deep hole by signing bargain basement pitchers that are washed up.  That's the Twins way.  Until that philosophy changed I don't see us being contenders but pretenders.

One of the most ridiculous articles I've ever read in sports.  Sano has been babied by  the Twins for way too long as it is.  Simply put he has been one of the least productive twins in a long time.  I don't think the writer watches him at all like the fans do.  Most of us cringe when he comes up.  It's strikeout time and rally killing time when he steps up to the plate.  It's long time to move on Sano.
