Every player wants to stay for the right money. Find that amount, agree to it.

Would love to see an extension that is no more than 3 years, preferably 2, and at an AAV in the mid to low teens.

Twins fall down and go boom tonite! I'm sure there is great relief in the O's clubhouse. No team really deserves to lose 14 in a row. Twins are simply cobbling together 9 guys who can still walk upright. Meanwhile Sano  is nearly under .150. Used to do a BA watch like this for Chris Davis....another slugger turned k-king, who this year is mercifully out for the season with an injury (I hear) Donaldson's HR power is gone. Might also be the same for Cruz.
Just a lousy night for the Twins...but someone had to lose to the O's eventually. We'll get 'em tomorrow.

This proved to be an unpopular opinion on Twitter, but I guess I just don't see how the Twins find themselves in contention again by 2023 if they trade an established and good #2 starter like Berrios. This team continues to scrape the bottom of the barrel for the back-end of the rotation, and we're due to lose Big Mike during/after this season as well. This team clearly can't compete effectively without better pitching, and I'm much more optimistic about getting the bullpen turned around in a year or two than I am about the rotation.
Call me pessimistic about this one, but if they trade Berrios this year, I foresee them slipping out of contention for more than a couple of years for no other reason than the hole in the rotation will be too big to fill in a single season.

You know, I'm really not the type of person who's all about increasing the pace of play or anything like that (I don't see an issue with the length or cadence of games, personally), but the second a position player is considered for a pitching appearance, the game should just end. You're very clearly rolling over at that point and saving your bullpen for a better day, so why continue the game at all?
In short, we need to normalize forfeiting games when they're massive blowouts!

    Have they been unlucky? Definitely.
However... I don't think it's anyone one thing in particular.  Rather it seems almost curse like.  If it can go wrong, it has.
Baseball is a cruel sport. Fickle and flighty on the best of days.
