I think that Mr. and Mrs. Buxton want to live in Minnesota and raise their children there.  Understanding that is the key to understanding his contract.

Inside this 66 year old body lives an 8 year old boy who doesn't give two hoots about contracts or economics. He loves his favorite players and is sad to see them go. He worries that we won't be as good without them.  Allhe wants is to have enough good players to win lots of games and be world champions. This boy will never grow up.

I'm not sure I like it, but time will tell.  This appears to indicate that Lewis will not be ready this year, but Kiner-Falefa has played 3B and C, too, so could be moved around.  I will really miss Garver, but we had one too many catchers and too many 1B, too, so no place for all those people to play.  Best of luck, GarvSauce.
