Sending down Lewis and keeping Miranda up because he "can play first base" is asinine imo. Any MLB bench player should be able to play left field at a passable level, Lewis can do that. I see zero good reasons to sending him back down. Its moves like this, on top of not being able to manage the leash on pen arms properly that drive me nuts with this team, managing and all around operation. Its almost parody at this point. Think of the dumbest way they can manage players and games, and they will probably do it.

Yeah okay Nick, you like Rocco, we get it. Its okay if others don't. This screams brainwashed homer calling people "Doomers" for not liking everything about the current team. If I wanted that I would sit on the cult site that is the Twins subreddit.

This has to rank in the higher stages of hyperbolic statements ever authored on TD.

Miranda needs to be sent down when Correa comes back. Not Lewis. Lewis can hit major league pitching.

What a lesson - part 2 of the Astros graduate course on how to play baseball and Dusty taught our managers too if they were watching.  Maybe we can get game three, but regardless the Astros leave behind some strong ideas - like hitting singles, stealing bases, hit and run, and then clobber the ball over the fence.  Field well, make smart plays!  Nicely done.
I am impressed with Lewis and Celestino - not so much Gary Sanchez and Urshela  and why was Jeffers a DH?  Sanchez - 195, Jeffers 203 and Urshela 222.
I feel for Cano - Stashek should have the runs added to his ERA.  Asking Cano for three innings was a push.
Well on to game three, the Astros are probably tired from running bases and we should be able to get to them - Go Winder!  I do have hope that Winder is for real and will not give in to the tough lineup he will face.

Every team has injuries. I will never let that be an excuse in any pro sport. Even though the are down big names.

This is pretty much where I'm at, but I'd be surprised if they were under .500 at the deadline. 18 straight against Oakland, Detroit, and KC to close this month. If the Reds weren't looking to break the all time record for losses that trio would be in the running for the title of "worst in baseball." Unless Cleveland really gives the Twins a rough time, or MN collapses, there are just too many games against terrible teams to give up the ground they've already made.

The Mets just DFA'd and released Robinson Cano, who was hitting a full 100 points higher than Sano this year and is still owed $45M on his contract. Just sayin...might be time for Sano.

with 3 man bench and station to station baseball a guy who can fill in at every position other then catcher and play it relatively well while adding some speed as a pinch runner has good value.
If he can continue what he is doing he will have a big league job for years to come.

You can hang this loss on the coaches. Having 2 runners thrown out at home is strickly a 3rdbase coach problem. Also, why was Thielbar the choice to pitch in the 5th inning when the first batter (Mateo) is a right-handed batter, the only lefty he was going to face was Mullins. Wouldn't Joe Smith have been a better choice? Even using Duran I go to Smith instead if I haven't used him already. What about Pagan? He had 2 days off like Smith verses Thielbar at 1 day off. The starters also need to start pitching into the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings. These 4 inning stints are not going to work long-term. We are a month into the season. If the starters are not stretched out enough to start throwing 90 pitches or more by now then something is wrong with their conditioning.

And now......the news that Correa has a non-displaced fracture on his right middle finger.  I know cuss words aren't allowed on this site, but...%#$#@***!!!   Really?
Assuming CT scan confirms this injury------its time--------to promote Royce Lewis to play SS everyday as I have no interest in seeing Gordon there.  Lewis has played very well at SP.  Not the circumstances anyone wants, but time to let Lewis take his shot.
For those younger Twins fans out there.........Yes........this is why hope is a dangerous thing.
