It is in my book.  He scores on a single versus needing an extra base hit.

Maybe with top speed byron. But he’s not there now

Yeah, no reason for Buxton to have stolen 2nd...

And if he’s caught, everyone is showering right now. Except me. I already had mine

Terrible loss.

I sense a tailspin in progress.

It's a 2-game losing streak. Nothing to panic over (yet).

Rats!

12 hits and only 2 runs!   Come on!  Hitting coach should be fired!   Get James Rowson here!   No homers for how many games lately?

We will see plenty of loss like this as long as Rocco is the manager. I really miss Tom Kelly.

It’s on every one. Should be feasting on these bottom feeder teams and their pitching staffs. Is it playing down to the competition or are we just mediocre?

Ugh, if only playing 2B instead of SS wasn't so complicated! Just no way for the kid to adjust to such a position shift.

You've got it backward. Many think that SS and CF is so easy that Polanco can play SS or an INFer can adjust to CF no sweat, But the reverse is true it's not complicated for an athletic player to adjust to 2B from SS. Teams have thrown SS into 2B all the time w/o any adjustment time and they've excelled even more.

But why do the bats get let off the hook?  They haven't added on to leads.  Two runs doesn't win often against anyone.  That's not getting it done either.  It's a team game.  Both aspects need to improve and do better.

Predictable. It doesn't matter what the score is, the important thing is a 2 run lead with 6 outs to go. Period. Situational. Could have been 10-8. Same thing. Sure, it would be great to score more runs, but it is the lead in the 8th that makes it situational.

Plus, the offense did have 12 hits. Twice as many as the Royals.

It also doesn't matter what the score is when the bases are loaded with no outs and they score nothing late in games either.  That's happened two games in a row.  They had chances to get both of those games back.  Outhitting a team 2 to 1 doesn't mean much if they plate fewer runs.

I'm not saying that the pen isn't a problem, I'm saying that the bats deserve to be ripped too.  This isn't an either/or scenario.
