Where's the outrage......

https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/more-than-dozen-children-rescued-georgia-sex-trafficking-bust/OHEHJUSWWRBQRHQMBQPGQPORAI/   I have not heard one professional athlete make a statement on this subject (human trafficking), but they are all over the news supporting BLM.

Tyler Clippard

I had really hoped the Twins had signed him, turns out to be a good non-signing.     https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/03/tyler-clippard-shut-down-six-weeks-with-capsule-sprain.html

Where do we start.....

Figured I would give this blog thing a try!   First of all, I like most of you, am a fan of baseball and the Twins in particular. It has been interesting reading some of the posts on here as to how to fix the team. I will offer no theories but instead will post some statistics using what have become the standard measuring tools - AVG/OBP/SLG & OPS for batters and WHIP, K/BB, K/9 & OPS against for pitchers. I will also note the Twins ranks among the AL teams.   And now, your 2012 Twins st

Manager - How much difference can one make?

It is commonly accepted that one manager is not worth more than another manager - that the results would be the same no matter who is at the helm.   However, if one looks at the standings over the last few years, it appears to me that a manager might make quite a bit of difference.   Bob Melvin in Oakland, Buck Showalter in Baltimore, Terry Francona in Cleveland, John Farrell in Boston, Clint Hurdle in Pittsburgh to name a few have turned teams around over the last couple of years while Mike Sci

2014 and Beyond - Coaching staff

Love him or hate him, Gardy's fate is not in our hands. There are, as there should be, arguments to be made for keeping him, and for letting him go. Based on the fact that Terry Ryan won't commit either way, I think he is letting Gardy decide. He has a job if he wants one. I would like to see somebody different man the helm, like AAA manager Gene Glynn or, as mentioned in another posting, Dave Martinez. Both have ties to the Rays and, I believe, know how to handle younger players and a roster in

Outta LF......

This may be different by the end of the season, but I think the current offense could use Eddie. His defense is even above average by sabermetrics.   Twins LF - .185/.224/.241 0 HR 5 RBI Rosario - .245/.304/.434 2 HR 8 RBI

Previous Entries

Just throwing the stats out there, no analysis or deep reaching comments, yet! I may delve deeper into these as the season wears on, but for now I figured I would just post them and let the commentors read into and say what they want about them.   My first thoughts are that even though the offense and starting pitching have room for major improvements, the team is doing quite well and should not give up this season as no one is running away with the division yet. However, if they need to keep re

2013 Payroll

There have been alot of posts on here about all the money coming off the books next year. Let's take a look at the real numbers, as I have done on a couple off occassions this year.   The team currently has 8 players under contract for next year and they will earn $63.8 M   The team team has 4 arbitration eligible players that are estimated to receive $20 M. We are at 12 players and $83.8 M.   The team has 2 players, Matt Capps and Scott Baker, with team options totalling $15.25 M. The smart thi

Trying this again....

Figured I would update the slash lines I started last week so as to get a picture of where our 2012 Minnesota Twins are sitting compared to the rest of the American League.   Interesting to note with all the different line-ups that certain positions in the field and certain spots in line-up perform the same, good or bad, no matter who is in there. Anyway, here are this weeks updated slash lines:     C - .284/.371/.358 .729 (6) 1B - .206/.286/.352 .638 (11) 2B - .231/.280/.288 .568 (12) 3B - .20
