For those wanting to know more about Andrew Albers here's a nice article.

Seth do you think the Twins will bring up both Albers and Gibson? Is Albers even on the 40 man roster? I know Albers K rate is higher than Gibsons this year (both at almost 9 K's per game) but there stats are almost identical. It would be nice to have a couple of starters on the Twins who missed bats.

Honestly, they would most likely bring up Gibson. Albers is not on the 40 man roster, though that isn't a big issue with Tim Wood and Darin Mastroianni being 60 Day DL options. There is a question of "Stuff" but I think it's important to note Albers. We keep hearing about Gibson, Deduno, De Vries and others and no one talks about Albers. We should.

Who do you think the twins will put on the 40 man roster when/if Darin and Wood go on the 60 day DL?

Seems like it's pretty close to time to move Baxendale up. He can't do much better in Fort Myers than what he's doing, and he's been doing it for a month and a half now.

I'd like to see them add a replacement for Mastroianni, and my choice would be Richardson. I'd like to see another lefty option if they put Wood on the shelf. Theilbar or Albers.

I think if Hicks got hurt today, Richardson would come up and mastroianni would go on the 60 Day DL. No need to add someone now or put him on the 60 Day before the spot is needed. Thielbar is already on the 40 man, but Albers would have to be added if they brought him up.

Did Nate Roberts get hurt again for Ft Myers.....havent seen him since his debut.
When is the last time a pitcher in Twins system averages 7IP per start?? Duffy is 49.1IP thru 7 starts & has gone 7IP in 6 of his 7 games. Seems like he could make up for Luke Bard if his arm doesnt come around.

Albers has a lower ERA, a lower WHIP and a higher K rate than Gibson.
No idea at all why the Twins would bring Gibson up before Albers. We have guys on the 40 man roster who would not be claimed or it would be fine if they were claimed or we could put on the 60 day DL.
Just doesn't make sense to me.

About moving Mastro to the 60-day DL, you can't without a corresponding roster move. And that move won't happen until it's absolutely necessary.
The lefty shuffle currently going on in AAA, makes you wonder when the other affiliates or the Twins will feel that effect.

I think Hernandez deserves one or 2 more starts. Same with Pelfry and Worely. they all seem to show just enough to keep their spots then throw a clunker then just when you think we should replace them they throw another start that buys time. Eventually we need to give others a chance to see if we can get consistancy out of our rotation and give the others a chance. Dedunno and Devries did a solid job last year. They deserve another chance as well as Albers the way he's been pitching. With the innings limit on Gibson, I am almost ok with the Twins just giving him a few starts/ bullpen time to get acclimated this year and then come up next year and go for 180-200 innings. ( I imagine he will be capped next year in the 180-200 inning range)

Roberts had some swelling in his knee after playing in the one game, so he's back on the DL.
Duffey was a 5th rounder just last year out or Rice where he was a reliever. He's got a strong arm though, throws strikes and has pitches. Bard will likely be another month due to the impingement in his shoulder, but he'll be fine.

Very cool video from last night's game... a couple of very nice plays by Niko Goodrum. Big hits from Polanco and Williams, and the walk-off by Harrison.
