Eddie Rosario to DL after struck in face
According to the Pioneer Press's John Shipley, Beloit Snappers 2B Eddie Rosario will be placed on the Disabled List. During Batting Practice today, he was struck in the face by a ball. He was taking ground balls at 3B at the time. I'll update this thread as I hear more, but depending upon where it hit him, it could be severe, or it could just be the 7 days.

Facial fracture, just below the lip, per Joe Christensen. Says out six weeks.

Let me dig on this a bit because it does not make sense. And here is why it does not make sense: as far as head bones go, you got the skull and the jaw. and below the lip is the jaw and not the face. Below the top lip they are just teeth...
I know they are reporting what they are giving them, but it might be a jaw thing.-----

I am very sorry to hear this. Why the heck was he at third base?

The cynical side of me says the Twins front office is fine with it as it keeps Roasario (Sano also) @ Beloit all season, like they prefer to handle it.
I also hate 'the butterfly effect' of it since if he was promoted to Ft Myers like his play has dictated....this doesnt happen.

There was no reason for him to be in Ft. Myers yet... so, although I get your theory, it's just not fair. And, the best thing for Sano and Rosario woudl be for them to spend a full season in the Midwest League, as did fast risers, Mauer and Revere... and Morneau... and...
It's nothing mor than a bad, unfortunate 'break' to a great player.

Well at least TD contributor Adam Pettersen should get some time at his actual position now.

I wonder if the Twins would forward any "Get Well Soon" cards that we send to the front office?

Hey Mazzilli, there's an infield spot up for grabs in Beloit. Sign your damn offer and be thankfull you were the first of only two college infielders drafted by the Twins this year.

Ouch!
That sounds very painful, but not terribly serious. I hope he's back soon.

Looks like Steven Liddle got demoted (from last season) to Beloit to take Rosario's spot.

Once he is cleared to play I wouldnt be surprised to see him just stay in Fort Myers after Rehab.
