What's surprising is that apparently nobody is charting pitches for these players and then working with them on meeting pitches better in their weak areas. What else explains Hughes' ignorance of his outside weakness? What are the batting coaches doing to earn their paychecks?

Third to last paragraph says Vavra doesn't share all of the data to avoid information overload. While on the surface it may seem ill advised to not inform them of this, with "younger players" they have so much on their plate to know what to expect from the pitchers that having another thought in their mind will only hurt them
