Made front page on ESPN. Pretty funny, and they shouldn't really feel bad, other teams have done this, but the lie rarely leaks... :D

I don't really care about this one way or another, but I do find the club's statement in the linked article interesting. They say they were hoping it would go viral and were happy with the result, and they apologize to anyone who was offended.

I still don't get that, and I've seen many companies start using this tactic - not admitting they did anything wrong, but being sorry if some were offended. Almost makes the apology meaningless, in my view.

I guess I don't understand why this is wrong. It was staged, sure, but it didn't mislead anyone in any kind of important way. Worst case, it scared a couple of guys away from making a spectacle of themselves at a baseball game. That might be a good thing.

If this is wrong, then everyone involved with The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Survivor, and most other reality shows has a lot of explaining to do. This is just a silly gag, those other shows are massive frauds.
