Call Up!!!!
My prospect has made it with a swap of places with Pedro Hernandez being reported. This does leave me concerned about the Fifth Starter position and maybe this is a temporary stop gap call up but he's coming to the bigs!
Way to go Caleb, prove you belong here permanently!!

You get to draft another prospect now.

Congratulations to Caleb Thielbar. Randolph is less than 25 miles from where I live and two of my cousins used to live in rural Randolph, so Caleb is practically a neighbor. I hope he is given a chance to stay with the big club when Friday's start is upon us. He had a fine two innings in his debut.

In his first 3 appearances, Thielbar has pitched 5 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts while allowing only one walk and one hit for a .60 WHIP. Counting AAA, he has gone 16.1 straight innings without an earned run!

Got a couple of friends who know Caleb really well, so that is cool.
Way better that he looks like a guy who's gonna stick & be effective.....to Casey Fien's detriment!!!

Up to 14.2 innings and 13 appearances, ERA still 0.00...
Counting AAA, that is now 25-26 straight innings without an earned run...

I was out of town for Caleb's first run allowed, does it still count? Caleb gave up a solo HR ending the dream of a career ERA of 0.00 but it was an impressive start to his Major League career.
On a separate note, Caleb lost his grandmother and he will be going on a bereavement leave Thursday and return to the Twins on Sunday. Keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this time. Here's a link to the bereavement leave info. Fantasy Baseball News & Player Updates | MLB.com: Fantasy

Mr. Thielbar (as he has earned that level of respect) has established himself as a major league reliever but since he was adopted as a prospect at the beginning of this year his page begs for occasional attention.
He has spent more time in the majors this year than in Rochester and he's posted a 0.89 ERA in 31 MLB appearances over 30.1 innings. He has made a total of 48 appearances between AAA and the Majors pitching 56.2 total innings. That makes his season ERA 2.54 which seems more human but is excellent on its own merit. Looking a little deeper, he has 61 Strike Outs to 19 walks. My personal favorite stat is opponents BA. Mr Thielbar has an MLB Opponents BA Of .120. NICE!!!

Wednesday was an example of a bad day that started with defensive mistakes which in this case included a failure by Mr. Thielbar to cover home allowing a run. I love that he took ownership of it, recognized how egregious the mistake was and pledged to not repeat that error. I am loving having this young man in our uniform and see him as part of a promising future to replace a bad present day team.
