The guy is not a major league player and will just end up being another nobody in the long line of terrible Twins middle infielders of the 2000's also shame on Gardy for letting him hit as the tieing run in the 9th

I agree that he should have been pinch hit for in the 9th today.
Might be a bit too soon to call his career dead though.

To make room for...?

Agree that Dozie is a sub-optimal candidate for middle infield competency. But the heads to call for are several floors up.

Hope you didn't drive home from the game, Dave.

I'm just glad that we've all agreed Chris Parmelee is a MLB-calibre player.

Why not Brian Dinkelman? Decent fielder, and he hit over .300 in his brief stint with the team last year. Either him, or just move Escobar to 2B and use Dozier as the utility man.

Dozier as util I could handle. He just will never hit enough to be an everyday player (as I have stated for the past year+) his approach at the plate is consistently terrible.

Big difference, parmelee, plouffe and Doumit have all shown big league success. Hicks is a top tier talent who prob has been rushed, florimon and Escobar are both AAAA players just like Dozier.

Eh, this is just Dave being Dave. Too soon. Sadly, he's got the most potential of our crap MI possibilities.

Would be nice if he put together a decent at-bat from time to time though.

Dozier has 364 mlb PA's.

Plouffe after 1st 364 mlb PA's: .226/.272/.343/.615, 10 HR, 3.4 KK/BB
Dozier after 1st 364 mlb PA's: .228/.261/.326/.587, 6 HR, 3.9 KK/BB

Giving up on Dozier after 364 PA's would be as silly as giving up on Plouffe after his first 364 PA's.
But, I can't say this surprises me, considering a TON of people wanted to bail on Plouffe as well.

Calm down. How many major league teams have a player batting 8th in the lineup that is going to do much different than Dozier did? Mauer/Morneau/Willingham have grounded into game ending double plays as well. Lets get rid of them too!

You aren't going to have 9 guys batting every day that you wouldn't want to replace. Look at any team in the majors and there will be a guy that no body wants on their team. It's just the way it is. He's been fielding as well as you could ask for and he isnt hitting that terrible for the 8th spot.

We are 7 games in on a season that should end with us near the bottom of the division. I can't believe people are calling for heads already! We are 4-3 and were expect to be 1-6 at this point. Step off the ledge!

Dozier will be lucky to be an average or better starter but it would be silly to bail on him. At this point I would be thrilled if he was a below average starter since all of the other options are well below that.
