That's fine, I guess. He's a decent enough pitcher but I'm certainly not falling out of my chair with excitement.

Hopefully this is just a depth signing and there is a follow-up move that actually improves the rotation.

Where's the parade route? I'd like to get my spot reserved now to avoid the rush.

OK. The front office has done great (regular season results) so I guess I’ll give them the benefit of a doubt, but so far they have not been imaginative or aggressive and they have lost much more than they have brought in during free agency. I’d consider Happ a third tier starting pitching free agent signing.

Last year Bailey and Hill. This year Happ. Believe I'm beginning to see a pattern here......

Tell me again about all the pitchers this FO is/will be developing?

How they will be so awesome, and be like Cleveland keeps bringing up every year....

I didn't make this up, right?

I actually read about it right here on TD! Right?

I'm wondering if we may be under rating Happ a little bit. Looking at his basic statistics, he appears to be an improvement over Odorizzi except for a tough year in 2019. You guys may have access to or the analysis of his spin rate and other stats that say something different but what I've been able to see looks like a guy who has a better track record than Odorizzi and is left-handed to boot, something we desperately needed. We certainly didn't overpay him so it doesn't handicap us from other moves.

I like the signing. Frankly, I like it better than paying Odorizzi 13-15m a year for a three or four year contract. It looks like a contract in that range is what it's going to take to get him. Love me some Odo, but not so much at that price.

I like the signing as a depth/4th 5th starter type.

He IMO is better than Rich Hill and Homer Bailey or at least what they were last year.

This said, I think this team is still light years behind other contenders as it pertains to building a roster for this upcoming season. I doubt they are done, but if so, our bullpen likely kills us this year.

And I would LOVE to see a high upside type starter traded for.
