Depending on how many guys open the season on the D.L., the Twins Opening Day payroll will be just short of $80 million.
Right now, projecting one player on the D.L. the payroll is at $79,120,000. So, in theory, it will take having three guys on the D.L. to break the $80 million Opening Day threshold.

The last estimate I saw was $79 million, which means we are quickly regressing to Metrodome era numbers, which completely defeats the arguments and justifications Jerry Bell sold on the public, amid threats of contraction and relocation.
In 2007 (six seasons ago), our payroll was 71.4M. According to the inflation calculator at dollartimes, that equates to the buying power of 79.8M today. So we're gonna be right at where we were in 2007 in the Metrodome and baseball salaries have gone up a lot more than normal inflation. So, really, we'll be behind Metrodome spending.

And, of course, for a snapshot look at the Twins major league roster, and minor league roster (A-ball and above) go to: 2013 Minnesota Twins Roster - Majors View I'll try and keep it up-to-date with people released and such, but won't switch out assignments until it does actually happen. If want to spend some time looking at the Twins, just go back thru the roster years and see was a Twin, major league and minor league!
I wouldn't take that to seriously considering Scott diamond and glen Perkins aren't even on that roster.
Never mind.....I saw them out on the field.

"what does anybody expect?" when the Greinkes and Sanchezs of the world went to other teams. That said, with 80 million on the books I am get pretty frustrated thinking about the 2 year contracts that are being signed for FA pitching. Besides Correa, I like the off season moves. Along with them, what would it do to our club to have McCarthy and Marcum? That would put Payroll up to the 95k range, allow a better chance for some more wins in '13 and the team could still be working on rebuilding. The x factor is that those people have to want to play for the Twins. Also, I know this post is the same as a 1000 others this off season and a little late. For some reason I was a bit more level headed about this until recently. Now, as we slide into February, I am becoming annoyed. Please sign another guy.
