With the real Twins around the corner, I have elected to sim to the playoffs to try and tease how the real club will do this fall, and as it so happens, they will face a familiar foe in the ALDS.

American League Division Series Game One: Minnesota Twins @ New York Yankees 7:10pmCT

Catch-Up

Well, it's time. I could go through all the miserable stats we have against New York like a national broadcast would at a time like this but we all know what this is. Rocco Baldelli said last year that this is a new Twins team and they don't believe in the curse from New York and he didn't even acknowledge there was one, but yet the Twins were swept by New York in the ALDS last year. Who knows what the real team has in store come October but either way, I believe it's the Twins fate to sleigh this dragon.

Starting Pitchers Game One

  • Twins: Jose Berrios* 17-4, 3.71 ERA, 196.1 IP, 211 K's
  • Yankees: Gerrit Cole** 19-6, 2.89 ERA, 233.2 IP, 308 K's

*=Berrios v. Cole III: In the two prior meetings this season, Berrios bested Cole in both outings and lead the Twins to 10-6 and 10-2 victories.
**=Gerrit Cole: MVP and Cy Young (First time that has been done since Clayton Kershaw in 2014).

Minnesota Batting Order

  1. 2B Luis Arraez* .324 BA, 4 HR, 34 RBI
  2. SS Jorge Polanco .262 BA, 16 HR, 77 RBI
  3. 3B Josh Donaldson .266 BA, 30 HR, 82 RBI
  4. DH Nelson Cruz .291 BA, 41 HR, 124 RBI
  5. 1B Miguel Sano .263 BA, 37 HR, 87 RBI

*=Luis Arraez: AL Batting Champ (.324)
**=Mitch Garver: AL Silver Slugger, Catcher.

  9. CF Aaron Hicks .229 BA, 16 HR, 49 RBI

*=D.J. LeMahieu: Gold Glove 2nd Base

Storylines

  1. I was 7 years old the last time the Twins won a playoff game and it's been even longer since the Twins won a playoff series. But unlike year's past the Twins have had some success against New York this season. They nearly swept the Yankees in New York for the first time in 60 years, they took the season series 5-2, but now they face their toughest task yet, and game one is the most important of the series.
  2. We've talked about the Twins success this year against New York but nobody has been sharper against the Yankees than Max Kepler and Jose Berrios. First on Kepler, in 23 at-bats against New York this season he is batting .478 with 4 HR, 11 RBI and his slugging a RIDICULOUS .929. If that's not enough Jose Berrios has been lights out against New York this season. In his only two starts against them he is 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA with only 3 BB and 20 K's. The Twins have the firepower and the pitching to back it up, but will it be enough to defeat the Evil Empire? You'll have to tune in to find out.

American League Divisional Series: Minnesota Twins @ New York Yankees 7:10pmCT (NYY leads 1-0)

Catch-Up
The top half of the 1st? A three-RBI bases clearing double by Max Kepler, and then the rest of the game happened. I'm not sure if the Twins have to go full Major League on the bit and sacrifice a bucket of KFC chicken or something, but something has got to change, and the Twins might have the man for the job on the mound tonight.

Starting Pitchers Game Two

  • Twins: Kenta Maeda* 11-5, 3.35 ERA, 158.2 IP, 188 K's
  • Yankees: James Paxton* 14-10, 3.55 ERA, 203.0 IP, 253 K's

*=Maeda v. Paxton II: In first encounter, Twins won on June 20th 2-1. Maeda went 5.0 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, and 9K's while Paxton went 6.0 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, and 3 K's.

Minnesota Batting Order

  1. C Mitch Garver 0-3, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  2. RF Max Kepler* 2-4, 1 HR, 5 RBI
  3. 1B Miguel Sano 0-3, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  4. DH Nelson Cruz 0-3, 0 HR, 0 RBI, 2 BB
  5. LF Eddie Rosario 2-4, 0 HR, 0 RBI

  9. CF Byron Buxton 1-4, 0 HR, 0 RBI

*=Kepler this season in 7 games against NYY: .481 BA, 5 HR, 16 RBI SLG 1.012

New York Batting Order

  1. 2B D.J. LeMahieu 4-4, 0 HR, 1 RBI
  2. 3B Gio Urshela 1-5, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  3. RF Aaron Judge 2-4, 1 HR, 3 RBI
  4. DH Giancarlo Stanton 2-5, 0 HR, 1 RBI
  5. SS Gleyber Torres 0-3, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  6. 1B Mike Ford .308 BA, 8 HR, 20 RBI in 37 games this season.
  7. C Gary Sanchez 0-3, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  8. LF Brett Gardner 1-3, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  9. CF Mike Tauchman .171 BA, 8 HR, 27 RBI in 56 games this season.

Storylines

  1. This is why the Twins went aggressive in Free-Agency and traded away a top prospect in Graterol, for a pitcher like this. Maeda is going to make his fifth postseason start and between being a reliever for the Dodgers and a starter, this isn't his first rodeo. With all of Minnesota's hope in the balance, this is the biggest game of the year and the right man is on the bump tonight for Rocco's Twins.
  2. D.J. LeMahieu continues his rampage against the Twins this season, now batting .678 this season against the Twins as it appears he has taken over the mantle previous held by Didi in bludgeoning Minnesota. The Yankees in game two will turn to Big Maple, James Paxton, who is making his second postseason start against Minnesota (His first back in 2019 he went 4.2 IP allowing 2 HR and striking out 8 in the Yankees victory).

American League Divisional Series Game Three: New York Yankees @ Minnesota Twins 7:10pmCT

(Series Tied (1-1)

Catch-Up
Playoff monkey be damned! For the first time in 16 years the Twins have won a playoff game and it was against New York! But now the celebration ends abruptly, the Twins have a chance to advance to the pennant and every game counts, especially tonight in front of their home crowd at Target Field.

- NYY vs. MIN (Series Tied 1-1)

Playoff Picture National League
- CIN vs. WSH (Reds lead 2-1)
- CHC vs. LAD (Cubs lead 2-1)

Starting Pitchers Game Two

  • Twins: Jake Odorizzi* 9-11, 5.29 ERA, 163.1 IP, 178 K's
  • Yankees: Masahiro Tanaka** 14-19 4.07 ERA, 203.2 IP, 194 K's

*=Jake Odorizzi: Revenge game, only start in Postseason was against NYY in 2019 ALDS (5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 5 K's in the loss).
**=The Right Man for the Job: Tanaka in 46.0 IP in his postseason career has a 1.76 ERA and what's worse for Twins fans, 1.06 ERA in 3 ALDS appearances. Couple that with a 0.706 career WHIP in his ALDS appearances and the Twins will have to fight hard to break this rock solid pitcher.

Minnesota Batting Order

  1. RF Max Kepler .300 BA, 1 HR, 6 RBI
  2. SS Jorge Polanco .222 BA, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  3. LF Eddie Rosario .556 BA, 1 HR, 4 RBI
  4. DH Nelson Cruz .500 BA, 1 HR, 2 RBI
  5. 3B Miguel Sano .400 BA, 2 HR, 3 RBI
  6. C Mitch Garver .125 BA, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  7. 1B Alex Avila* .250 BA, 10 HR, 23 RBI in 55 games this season.
  8. 2B Luis Arraez 0-3, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  9. CF Byron Buxton .444 BA, 0 HR, 0 RBI

*=Avila gets the start as Sano moves to 3B because of Donaldson being benched for GM 3. This postseason Donaldson is 0-10 with 7 strikeouts.

New York Batting Order*

  1. 2B D.J. LeMahieu .556 BA, 0 HR, 1 RBI
  2. 3B Gio Urshela .222 BA, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  3. RF Aaron Judge .250 BA, 1 HR, 3 RBI
  4. DH Giancarlo Stanton .429 BA, 0 HR, 1 RBI
  5. SS Gleyber Torres 0-6, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  6. C Gary Sanchez .200 BA, 0 HR, 1 RBI
  7. 1B Miguel Andujar .223 BA, 16 HR, 45 RBI in 81 games this season.
  8. LF Brett Gardner .286, 0 HR, 1 RBI
  9. CF Aaron Hicks 0-4, 0 HR, 0 RBI

*Tale of Two Cities: The top half of the Yankees order (1-4)have supplied 80% of the runs scored and are batting a vastly higher clip than the bottom of the order.

Storylines

  1. Although it ended as a loss, Odorizzi pitched his heart out last fall against New York and gave 5 very solid innings at Target Field, but it wasn't enough. Tonight Odorizzi gets a rare chance to do it all again against the same foe in New York. But Odo isn't the only story here. The Twins may have scored 11 runs in Game Two but the Yankees are starting potentially their best pitcher for this situation. Tanaka in last year's ALDS shut the Twins down to only a run in 5 innings while striking out 7 and his other stand-outs stats speak for itself (see starting pitchers above).
  2. The Twins got the 16 year old monkey off their back in Game Two and Rocco had to quickly kill the celebration. It was an important game but it was also just that, a game. With the next two games at Target Field, the Twins have an opportunity to play for the American League Pennant if they plays their cards right, or have their hearts ripped out again at home to the Yankees. Another crucial game in this series begins tonight.

ALDS Game Four: New York Yankees @ Minnesota Twins 7:10pmCT (Twins lead 2-1)

Catch-Up
It doesn't all come down to tonight but it kinda does. The Yankees take game one in a back and forth thriller and a game Twins fans are all too familiar with, Twins up early, hearts broken late. Games 2 & 3 have been a different story as the Twins have gotten deep into that Yankee bullpen and are poised to take the series. We saw one piece they added this winter come through in game two, they're going to need the other piece from L.A. to finish the job tonight.

- HOU vs. LAA (Astros lead 2-1)
- NYY vs. MIN (Twins lead 2-1)

- CHC vs. LAD (Series tied 2-2) If anyone wants to watch, Game 5 on Thursday at either 3:10pmCT or 7:10pmCT depending on outcome of tonights game.

Starting Pitchers Game Four

  • Twins: Rich Hill 5-6, 5.10 ERA, 95.1 IP, 99 K's
  • Yankees: Jordan Montgomery 11-15, 4.13 ERA, 181 IP, 162 K's

Minnesota Batting Order*

C Mitch Garver .091 BA, 0 HR, 0 RBI
RF Max Kepler .400 BA, 2 HR, 9 RBI
1B Miguel Sano .333 BA, 3 HR, 7 RBI
DH Nelson Cruz .545 BA, 2 HR, 4 RBI
LF Eddie Rosario .500 BA, 2 HR, 6 RBI
3B Josh Donaldson 0-10, 0 HR, 0 RBI
SS Jorge Polanco .286 BA, 0 HR, 2 RBI
2B Ehire Adrianza .327 BA, 7 HR, 22 RBI in 57 games this season
CF Byron Buxton .417 BA, 0 HR, 0 RBI
*=Despite the slow start, Rocco is still going with Garver at Catcher for Game Four in the lead-off spot and after a day off, we'll see if a more composed Josh Donaldson is here tonight after striking out 7 of 10 at-bats this postseason.

New York Batting Order*

2B D.J. LeMahieu .357 BA, 0 HR, 1 RBI
LF Brett Gardner .300 BA, 0 HR, 1 RBI
RF Aaron Judge .273 BA, 1 HR, 5 RBI
DH Giancarlo Stanton .273 BA, 0 HR, 1 RBI
SS Gleyber Torres .100, 0 HR, 0 RBI
C Gary Sanchez .222 BA, 0 HR, 1 RBI
1B Luke Voit .000, 0 HR, 1 RBI
LF Gio Urshela .231 BA, 0 HR, 1 RBI
CF Mike Tauchman .143 BA, 0 HR, 0 RBI
*Yankees have started late in both games 2 & 3 and won game one because of early scoring that silenced Minnesota. If they're going to take this back to New York, they're going to need to bring out the heavy hitters.

Storylines
1. The last time the Twins clinched a series at home it was game 7 of the 1991 World Series behind argubaly the greatest postseason start in MLB history in Jack Morris. The Twins went out and acquired Rich Hill for games like this. With the Twins one win away from their first ALCS birth in 18 years, emotions are going to be high strung at Target Field.
2. Not only have the Twins taken the last two games but they're heavily depleted the Yankee bullpen. If New York wants to take this to game 5 they are going to need a huge start from Jordan Montgomery who is making his first career postseason appearance.

ALCS Game One: Houston Astros @ Minnesota Twins (Series Tied 0-0) 7:10pmCT

Catch-Up
The Twins have sleighed their biggest antagonist over the past 20 years and now advance to the ALCS for the first time since 2002. In this series they will again take on an AL West opponent, but this time it's the Astros who have come a long way to get here. Winners of an extra innings ALWC game with Tampa and their series with the Angels went all five games and was won thanks to Verlander's second start of the series. Houston on short rest, Twins potentially on too much rest, we'll see who has the upper hand tonight.

Playoff Picture
- Hou vs. Min (Series Tied 0-0)
- Cin vs. CHC (Reds lead 1-0)

Starting Pitchers Game One

  • Astros: Zack Grienke* 1-0, 3.86 ERA, 7.0 IP, 6 K's
  • Twins: Jose Berrios 0-0, 10.80 ERA, 3.1 IP, 4 K's

*=Zack Grienke: Career 4.64 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in 24 starts against Minnesota.

Houston Batting Order

CF George Springer .304 BA, 1 HR, 2 RBI
2B Jose Altuve* .333 BA, 0 HR, 0 RBI
3B Alex Bregman .286 BA, 0 HR, 1 RBI
DH Yodran Alvarez .346 BA, 4 HR, 11 RBI
LF Michael Brantley .179, 1 HR, 3 RBI
SS Carlos Correa .476 BA, 3 HR, 6 RBI
1B Yuli Gurriel .250, 2 HR, 2 RBI
RF Josh Reddick .318 BA, 1 HR, 3 RBI
C Martin Maldando .261 BA, 2 HR, 8 RBI
*Jose Altuve: 2019 Postseason MVP (SLG north of .700, OBP north of .450, and 5 HR's between 11 games in the ALDS and ALCS.

Minnesota Batting Order*

RF Max Kepler .316 BA, 2 HR, 9 RBI
SS Jorge Polanco .313 BA, 0 HR, 2 RBI
3B Josh Donaldson .071 BA, 0 HR, 0 RBI
DH Nelson Cruz .500 BA, 3 HR, 6 RBI
LF Eddie Rosario .437 BA, 2 HR, 6 RBI
C Mitch Garver 200 BA, 2 HR, 6 RBI
1B Miguel Sano .250 BA, 3 HR, 7 RBI
2B Luis Arraez .143 BA, 0 HR, 0 RBI
CF Byron Buxton .437 BA, 0 HR, 1 RBI
*=High's and Lows: Some players on this club were incredibly exceptional in the ALDS, namely Kepler and Cruz, but there were also some players who were expected to play very well and underperformed to a dramatic degree (Arraez and Donaldson). Look for those guys to pick it up tonight at Target Field.

Storylines
1. The whole goal of this project was to show what the real season could have in store and in theory, it's all gravy from here. Knocking out New York and clinching at home and all, but Rocco's crew has aspirations for the Fall Classic, and they're four wins away.
2. Because Verlander started Game's 1 & 5 in the ALDS to advance Houston, Grienke get's the nod in game one making his 25th career start against Minnesota while Jose Berrios will look to hopefully redeem himself after a poor outing in the Game One loss against New York.

ALCS Game Two: Houston Astros @ Minnesota Twins 6:10pmCT (Houston lead series 1-0)

Catch-Up
Grienke and Berrios went blow for blow like Ivan Draggo and Rocky did in Rocky IV, and then we went to the bullpen and each club went blow for blow with each other and in one of the most dramatic games of the year, the Astros take game one. Tonight the Twins once again turn to Maeda with the same task at hand, even the series.

Playoff Picture
- HOU vs. MIN (Astros lead series 1-0)
- CIN vs. CHC (Series Tied 1-1)

Starting Pitchers Game One

  • Astros: Lance McCullers Jr. 1-0, 9.53 ERA, 5.2 IP, 2 K's
  • Twins: Kenta Maeda* 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 6.1 IP, 9 K's

*=Kenta Maeda: Despite the Trash Can year of 2017, Maeda still did fantastic against the 'Stros in the World Series. In 4 appearances he registered 5.2 IP and only allowing one run.

Houston Batting Order

  1. CF George Springer .250 BA, 1 HR, 2 RBI
  2. 2B Jose Altuve .345 BA, 1 HR, 2 RBI
  3. 3B Alex Bregman .240 BA, 0 HR, 1 RBI
  4. DH Yodran Alvarez .310 BA, 4 HR, 11 RBI
  5. LF Michael Brantley .194, 1 HR, 4 RBI
  6. SS Carlos Correa* .440 BA, 4 HR, 9 RBI
  7. 1B Yuli Gurriel .214, 2 HR, 2 RBI
  8. RF Josh Reddick .346 BA, 1 HR, 3 RBI
  9. C Martin Maldando .231 BA, 2 HR, 8 RBI

*Carlos Correa: Delt the initial blow in the 9th, with a Go-Ahead 3-Run HR followed by Altuve's dagger in the 10th.

Minnesota Batting Order*

  1. RF Max Kepler .292 BA, 3 HR, 10 RBI
  2. SS Jorge Polanco .368 BA, 0 HR, 2 RBI
  3. 3B Josh Donaldson .111 BA, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  4. DH Nelson Cruz .474 BA, 3 HR, 8 RBI
  5. LF Eddie Rosario .381 BA, 2 HR, 7 RBI
  6. C Mitch Garver .316 BA, 2 HR, 6 RBI
  7. 1B Miguel Sano .187 BA, 3 HR, 7 RBI
  8. 2B Luis Arraez .091 BA, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  9. CF Byron Buxton/Jake Cave (Gametime Decision) .333 BA, 0 HR, 1 RBI Buxton .229 BA, 3 HR, 16 RBI in 51 games this season for Cave

*=Is it enough?: The Bomba Squad scattered XBH's all over the field against New York, even in their only lose of the series. But tonight the question has to be asked how much is enough. All three games the Twins won they scored 9 runs or more all the while allowing an average of 4 runs a game. The Twins will once again need an outburst of offense again tonight.

Storylines

  1. Kenta Maeda already pitched the game of his live in ALDS GM 2, but now he's being called upon again, to even the series. With Minnesota trying to even the series before heading to Houston for 3 games, this game tonight enters must win territory for the Twins.
  2. McCullers will the Twins customer tonight and in his only start this season against Minnesota, he went 4.0 IP allowing 2 ER's but that game is a key to look into Minnesota tonight. They've been successful this postseason making pitcher's work early and getting to the pen and they'll need another battle tonight to even it up.

ALCS Games 3 & 4:Minnesota Twins @ Houston Astros 4:10pmCT, 6:10pmCT (Houston leads series 2-0)

Catch-Up
All of that training, all of that work throughout the season, comes down to two games in Houston. The Astros have taken the first two games of this series in gut-punching fashion and now have the Twins on the ropes. They took down New York and it was beautiful but now they play two games tonight and if they lose both, it's over. It's do or die for Minnesota, and we're going to find out pretty early if there's any fight left in this club.

  • Twins: Jake Odorizzi 1-0, 1.80 ERA, 5.0 IP, 5 K's
  • Astros: Josh James 0-1, 0.00 ERA, 4.1 IP, 6 K's

*=Jake Odorizzi: In 2019 in the loss against New York, Odorizzi delivered a gutsy performance and in this year's ALDS he did as well. The Twins season is on the line and now more than ever, they need a well pitched game from Odo.

Minnesota Batting Order*

  1. RF Max Kepler .250 BA, 3 HR, 10 RBI
  2. SS Jorge Polanco .364 BA, 0 HR, 2 RBI
  3. C Mitch Garver .304 BA, 2 HR, 7 RBI

  8. 2B Ehire Adrianza .667 BA, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  9. CF Byron Buxton .333 BA, 0 HR, 1 RBI

*=Josh Donaldson (2-22 with 15 strikeouts) and Luis Arraez (1-15) have been in a word, miserable, this postseason. For now, Marwin will play at 3B for Donaldson and Adrianza will play at 2B.

Houston Batting Order*

  1. CF George Springer .212 BA, 1 HR, 2 RBI
  2. 2B Jose Altuve .364 BA, 1 HR, 2 RBI
  3. 3B Alex Bregman .214 BA, 0 HR, 1 RBI
  4. DH Yordan Alvarez .324 BA, 5 HR, 14 RBI
  5. LF Michael Brantley .171 BA, 1 HR, 4 RBI
  6. SS Carlos Correa .448 BA, 4 HR, 9 RBI
  7. 1B Yuli Gurriel .250 BA, 3 HR, 6 RBI
  8. RF Josh Reddick .333 BA, 1 HR, 3 RBI
  9. C Martin Maldando .200 BA, 2 HR, 8 RBI

*Sent into orbit: Correa and Altuve in game one, Gurriel in game two, the Twins so far have had no answer for the vaunted bats in this order for Houston.

Storylines

  1. From 2015-17, the Astros at Minute Maid Park were 11-2 in the playoffs in the Trash Can Era, but since then they are 5-8 at home. Without their biggest aid, could this be the Twins chance to get back into this series?
  2. Big Mike blew game two after a great start by Kenta Maeda was ruined (4.1 IP, 0 ER) and we talk about Odorizzi needing a great start but the bullpen for Minnesota needs to wake up. Combined they have a 6.67 ERA this postseason and the only men who haven't allowed a run are Sergio Romo and Taylor Rodgers. I would imagine Wes Johnson had a lengthly talk with his bullpen along with Eddie Guardado about coming back strong tonight.

American League Championship Series: Minnesota Twins @ Houston Astros 4:10pmCT, 6:10pmCT*if needed (HOU leads series 3-1)

Catch-Up
Kevin Love was asked about what LeBron told team members on the Cav's that inspired them to comeback from a 3-1 deficit and he said they saw Klay Thompson talking about how they were arguably better the "Showtime," Lakers and all that and LeBron told Love, "Tonight's going to be a fight, it's going to come down to the final minutes, but if we bring this back home, game seven anything can happen." This is the same scenario for the Twins, heartbreak in Game 1, heartbreak last night in game four. The fate of the season hangs in the balance, and it's going to get a whole hell of a lot more interesting if the Twins can bring it back to Target Field.

Playoff Picture
- HOU vs. MIN (Astros lead series 3-1)
- CIN vs. CHC (Cubs Clinch World Series Birth)

Starting Pitchers Game One

  • Twins Jose Berrios/Homer Bailey (Gametime Decision) 0-0, 4.66 ERA, 9.2 IP, 12 K's    0-0, 0.00 ERA, 5.0 IP, 4 K's
  • Astros Justin Verlander* 2-0, 4.15 ERA, 13.0 IP, 14 K's

*=Justin Verlander: Won Game 1 & 5 in the ALDS and is the reason the Astros are even here in the first place. He can either end the Twins season tonight, or ignite a spark in the Twins clubhouse before bringing this back to Minnesota.

Minnesota Batting Order*

  1. 2B Luis Arraez .200 BA, 0 HR, 0 RBI
  2. 3B Josh Donaldson .120 BA, 1 HR, 1 RBI

  9. C Martin Maldando .189 BA, 2 HR, 9 RBI

*Sent into orbit: Correa and Altuve in game one, Gurriel in game two, Correa again in game three, the spearheads of this order for Houston have been carrying the series and now have a chance to dagger Minnesota.

Storylines

  1. Berrios on short rest, the second extra-innings lose of the postseason, Twins fans may feel there's no hope left for a playoff push. But in our best Dark Star impression Down Memory Lane we Go! Since 1925, 11 teams in baseball history have overcame a 3-1 deficit in the playoffs and the most recent example was the 16' Cubs in the World Series and most recent ALCS was 07' with the Red Sox.
  2. If, the Twins can defeat Verlander in Game 5, Game Six will immediately follow at 6:10pmCT and if needed, Game Seven would be tomorrow night at 7:10pmCT.

ALCS Game Seven: Houston Astros @ Minnesota Twins 7:10pmCT (Series tied 3-3)

Catch-Up
Kevin Love was asked about what LeBron told team members on the Cav's that inspired them to comeback from a 3-1 deficit and he said they saw Klay Thompson talking about how they were arguably better the "Showtime," Lakers and all that and LeBron told Love, "Tonight's going to be a fight, it's going to come down to the final minutes, but if we bring this back home, game seven anything can happen." This was the quote I ran with yesterday and now we're here. The Twins haven't played perfectly but still, they've made it. And now in front of their home crowd are 27 outs away from a date with destiny.

  9. CF Byron Buxton .343 BA, 0 HR, 2 RBI

*=Dance with who brought you: The Twins are electing to use the same lineup three games in a row to try and clinch the series tonight.

Storylines

  1. Heading into Game 4 the Twins bullpen ERA was 6.67 this postseason. Now in Game 5, 2 gutsy shutout innings from Bailey and Rodgers working out of two errors in the 8th still not allowing a run. Game 6 another gutsy 2 shutout innings of relief from Homer Bailey followed by Trevor May shutting the door also working around an error. The Twins bullpen was abysmal to open this series and now at the most important game, they are red hot.
  2. Of all the starting pitcher's this Postseason, none have had the Twins number like Lance McCullers. An incredibly dominant start in Game 2, now with an opportunity to add his third win of the postseason tonight and for the Twins, two days in a row of starting a guy on short rest. The Twins might only get 4.0 IP out of Odo, but Twins fans are hoping it'll be enough.
