While Fulmer goes 5 innings only allowing one run, he was bested by Jhoulys Chacin who nearly had the Twins first complete game of the year as the Twins take game one of the series 4-0. Game two of the series will feature the tail end of the Tigers rotation in Jordan Zimmerman, while the Twins will bring out their ace Jose Berrios looking to bounceback from his last Target Field start (0.2IP, 6R, 4 BB).

Bomba Tracker
- 2020: 27
- 2019 through 20 games: 36

1. On the road, Berrios has been great, going 17.2IP with a 3.13 ERA. But today he'll make his second appearance in front of the Twins faithful looking to bounceback after his rough first start, (0.2IP, 6R, 4BB) and win the series.
2. It's early, but Harold Castro has been lighting the world on fire here early in April. 3rd in Batting Average and 4th in Hits, the best bat in the Tigers lineup graces the lineup again today after getting a day off yesterday.
3. The Twins are currently 6-8 this April and haven't had a winning streak since their five gamer back in March 28th-April 1st. So the Twins look to build some consistency while Detroit looks to end their losing streak and even the score in Minnesota!

Post Game Wrap

For the past week or so the Twins have been in some very tight, low scoring affairs. They took game one of the series in similar fashion on the back of an excellent performance by Jhoulys Chacin,(8.1IP shutout ball), but todays game would be a different animal entirely.

The Twins opened the scoring yesterday with a bomba from Max Kepler, and today they opened the scoring as well, this time courtesy of their newly acquired third-baseman Josh Donaldson.

But unlike yesterday's contest, the Tigers ate their Wheaties this morning and were poised to tie the series up. After a two out walk and a broken bat single, Austin Romine would come to plate with two men on and two out looking to answer... Narrator: He did.

But then, something beautiful happened. We mentioned that since April 1st the Twins had been in limbo, constantly taking themselves out of rallies and having a tough time establishing consistency- that changed today. The Twins would quickly answer and tie the game back up 3-3 and then Alex Avila would enter and pop his Bomba "cherry" in style.

The Twins wouldn't stop there ramping up seven runs and fourteen hits as a club and the icing on the cake was courtesy of Sano's second straight day with a Bomba.

I know what you're thinking, all in a days work for the Bomba Squad!.....right? Well I mentioned earlier Detroit ate their Wheaties and one man in particular had a day. In Miguel Cabrera's career against Minnesota he's notched 42 home runs and 143 RBI's in 192 games coming into the game and on his 37th birthday today, he would add two more home runs and 3 RBI's.

So like we've seen all year, this one was going down to the wire. The Twins would tightrope it to the 9th inning and send out Taylor Rodgers to try and shut the door. Rodgers coming into the game had 5 saves and 3 blown saves early in April so it was not a sure thing, but based off of his last appearance where he went three scoreless to get the win in Chicago, the Twins were confident. Rodgers would punch out the first two batters and on batter number three...a deep drive to center...
