LaVelle Neal has a really nice article on new Twins starter Homer Bailey. It's got good background on his injury situations. It talks about his two no hitters. It talks about how he has horses and land and all that too.

Another player who wants to win. He and Donaldson will get along fine. I hope they light some competitive fires.

This article is such a stretch. His arm has been rebuilt and he is old. All we are hoping is for him to win a couple of games before we dump him.

Signing one of the horse-loving FA Pitchers should help entice future starters to Minnesota!

You might want to look at his fangraphs first....he throws harder than Odorizzi, has a similar body type to Verlander, and has a nasty split finger. 34 isn't all that old as he hasn't thrown many innings the last 4-5 years.

I want to be hopeful when it comes to Homer, but given his injury history and his inability to get through the 4th inning without getting giving up 4 runs or more I just can't jump on board with this guy.

It isn't 2014 and his statistics since than has been terrible.

He wasn't terrible last year. ERA+ says he was almost exactly league average. He was 36 out of qualified starters in fWAR last year. Seems like a more than reasonable guy for the 5th/swing spot in the rotation.

If we get the guy who played for the A's last year after the trade deadline, it's a steal.

What we DONT need are Perez and Gibson clones: slow workers who get demolished more often than not.

What we need is a few guys like Bailey who can pitch 6 innings, give up 3 runs, and keep the team in the ballgame on a regular basis. Sounds like a cool guy, I'm looking forward to seeing him pitch in a Twins uniform.
