We all knew he was going to end up a manager somewhere soon.
Think he'll walk through the clubhouse naked again? That would be something.

I don't know if it'll have the same effect as it did when he was a player.

I was hoping that the Twins would find a place for him somewhere, but they were too slow. I wish him luck.

You can come up with statistics to prove anything. Forty percent of all people know that.

Happy for him. A bit sad for the Twins (although I still had the gut feeling it would have been too soon for him to be back as the manager of the Twins).

Impressed to see that he has moved up to a MLB manager's job so quickly.

First order of busines...backups will now bat in the same spot in the lineup as the player they're filling in for.

This is a great move for Redmond. HE's been manager of the year in the two leagues he managed in the last two years. He's ready, and he'll do well. After spending 7 years with them as a player, he's where he should be. Good for him!

The Marlins have a fantastic new ballpark that they are having trouble filling. They tried building a winning a team and hired a world series winning latino manger. Instead he made the comment that he loved Fidel Castro and the team failed to live up to the hype. Attendance suffered and Ozzie Guillen lost his job. Now there are more factors on why that happened but I am not going to get into them.
Today, Mike Redmond is now the manager with a fantastic personality that helps build chemistry within the clubhouse. I propose that Redmond should walk naked around the Clevelander during high scoring games.

I'll ask the question on everybody's mind - does Mike Redmond have anything nice to say about Fidel Castro?

The Marlins have hired Mike Redmond as manager.

Ozzie Guillen's replacement will get a three-year deal. Tigers hitting coach Lloyd McClendon, Reds pitching coach Bryan Price and MLB Network analyst Larry Bowa also interviewed for the gig, but Redmond reportedly blew the competition away during his interview. The 41-year-old former catcher retired from baseball in 2010 and has since gained managerial experience in High-A ball.

Good for him! I would have liked to see him managing the Twins next year but that was never going to happen, hope he does well.

May all our prospects be All Stars and the beer be free.

Good for him! I hope the Marlins don't gut the team and at least give him a chance.
