Today opens an important late season series for the Twins. And, this series also bring out the magic of the baseball season. For instance, the following:

Of course, there is also another kind of magic

But the true magic lies in a number, specifically, the magic number:

http://twinsdaily.co...ad/#entry910891

*See above thread for the countdown.

Of course, transportation to Twins games is important:

I admit, at one point, maybe many points, I had a bit of this going on:

Because I thought perhaps things weren't going quite as they looked.

But, here we are, the Central title there for the Twins to grab. And, all they have to do is get through Cleveland.

Yeah, all the Twins have to do...and as we're well aware, Cleveland isn't going quietly into the night.

It's going to be another barn-burner of a series and let the best team, (best team defined as "The Twins") win!

With that, here are some things to think about:

1. Brad Hand...close game, Brad is probably good for at least one win, for the Twins.

2. Duffey dominated the Red Sox? How cool is that?

3. The defense behind Twins pitching the last game at Fenway was fun to watch.

4. Is "Rally Squirrel" actually a thing?

Lineups:

*Twins don't have their lineup up yet. Sort of odd.

5. Play ball!

Still no lineups for the Twins. Weird, it is.

Cool, lineups finally showed up!

And, I wish I'd have noticed earlier that one can now edit game thread openers!

Hope the boys come out relaxed and not feel pressured from the fans. Play the game they know they can and try going the opposite field and not swing for the fences on every pitch.

The speed with which the rally squirrel was adopted is a bit comical. I think teams like to have a meme to rally around, but this one seems forced...and not really sustainable?

Considering squirrels seem to breed like rabbits, I'd say they're plenty sustainable.

Teams sometimes latch on to a momentary interest of the fans, and some stick while others don't, for instance the accidental way Sweet Caroline gained adoption in Bos- ... excuse me one second ....

Somebody in some Bible somewhere said, "If a squirrel shall appear a third time then it shall be known as a Rally Squirrel. But until that time it shall be known only a lowly ground squirrel to have rocks chucked at and mocked."

I have a coffee table with a force field around it. Anytime I try and set anything on it the object gets thrust back into my hands. And sometimes I hear this angry voice...

Weird.

The opening montage reminds me how much I loved the 2001-2003 Twins. So much heart, fire, and antagonism from that squad.
