How many times has a team had 15 hits and only four runs? Tough loss, but gotta love the fight to stay in it there at the end.

Must win next two

At least one is vital, I would think. It's going to be tough against Giolito but I think this loss tonight magnifies the importance of this series. This kind of series is dangerous in a pennant chase.

Extending it even further:

8-12 at home since the half. Not good.

Damn, that game was very winnable. Some bad luck, some missed opportunities, and some mistakes.Just felt like one of those games where we got beat by a few inches here and there.

I don't know the statistics but it just feels to me like Target Field has been a really tough place for the Twins to play since it opened in 2010. Maybe I just got spoiled with how well we played in the Dome many of those years.

Bed bugs, perhaps.

Also have to factor in the quality of the teams the Twins were putting on the fielding since 2010

This is very true. But I seem to remember even in the 90s when we had some really bad teams, I always looked forward to when we would have a homestand. I don't remember audibly groaning when the Twins came back to the Dome like I have done very often since 2010. That doesn't mean I want the Dome back but I vividly remember even Morneau not liking the dimensions of Target Field, (right field high wall). I get the sense that the Dome was something that helped this team, whereas to be quite honest, there have not been very many magical moments at Target Field in my memory. In summary, I don't really like the place.

I am concerned. What flavor?

Good game, tough loss, missed an opportunity to extend the lead to three and the winning streak to five. One bad pitch to Abreu really hurt. While we are saluting the suicide squeeze, very well could have been thanking them for the double play.

I also think McCann blocked the plate, but it was a helluva play by both third base and catcher. Good send.
