I’m not sure how this thread became a Buxton for Correa discussion, but please stick to topic. Further, the Twins Talk forum is thataway ————>

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. But a skunkweed will always be a skunkweed and instantly recognizable.

Was that a change this year? Because it's always been a free for all prior to the All-Star break and then it went by league after.


It actually wasn't the all star break when it changed to league first, it was after the trade deadline.
That went away with the elimination of the waiver trade deadline.
The only time it comes into play now, is as a tie breaker if two teams from opposite leagues (with identical records) both submit a claim.

Only August waiver trade waivers prioritized league before record, and those indeed don't exist anymore, starting this year.

Outright assignment waivers and release waivers have used record regardless of league at least the past few years.
