The White Sox rebuilding plan seems to be progressing nicely (for them). Damn.

Welcome to the board. Always nice to have new guys.

Definitely needed some more youthful perspective ;).

I always wanted to know what it would be like to simultaneously experience the 1918 flu,  Great Depression, and 1968 mass protests while Andrew Johnson was president.

Too optimistic. You forgot to factor in the heavier damp air, the ten degrees lower than normal temps, the "We Should Whip These Guys Syndrome" and the tired arms of Twins hitters. I'd put it closer to 20. But my beer glass is usually half empty.

Solution.....buy more beer.

No Arraez in the line up. I'm guessing Twins announcing a couple of roster moves today. They don't want Arraez sitting on the bench when he could be playing everyday in AAA

From what it looks like, at least Littell will be returning to the Twins today

Sorry to nitpick but I have to correct a very common misconception. Cold air is more dense than warm air, thereby providing more resistance to an object moving through it, but humid air is less dense than dry air, thereby providing less resistance to an object moving through it.

Edit: this is one of the reasons that Atlanta is a good place for home run hitters. Summer weather is generally warm and humid plus it sits at the second highest elevation in the majors.

Another edit: Phoenix is about 30' higher than Atlanta. So Atlanta is third.

I don't see Hawk Harrelson listed as a broadcaster for the Sox. Are the current guys any more tolerable? I always enjoyed hearing Hawk rationalize when his team was taking a beating, and I would hope there will be a lot of need for that in this series.

I've lived in northern Indiana for 30 years and know of what I speak. Hawk was the single reason that put the Sox on my most-disliked list.

Which makes it really painful to watch Sox games now. I so want to dislike them, but it's become much harder with Jason Benetti on the mic. I truly enjoy listening to him, and he's got a great, quirky sense of humor. If he had free time, he would fit in well on TD. Perhaps my favorite line so far:

Benetti: [You can watch these games] on all your supported devices.

Steve Stone:* Are there any devices that aren't supported?

Benetti: Well, you can't get them on your toaster.

*In addition, Steve Stone is so much better when paired with Benetti. He can be entertaining in his own right, and Benetti does a good job of truly drawing out good insights from a knowledgeable ex-pitcher, whereas Hawk just wanted to talk about how Yaz used to do things.

So, yes, if you get a chance, watch the Sox guys.

But no, I still rank the Sox No. 30 behind:

No. 1: Twins

Nos. 2-29 (tied): everyone else.

After all, they still play in the Monument to Cement. But that's another diatribe.

(You may have also heard Benetti do some football or basketball, particularly on Big Ten games. He's good there, but not as good as in baseball, where the pauses give him time to expound.)

A kid from church has his high school grad party tonight. If I get a chance after I get home, I'll offer some of Benetti's gems in the GT.

*2 of 4.

But I agree, the White Sox are not a pushover, they have some talent. I would not be terribly surprised to see them finish 2nd in the ALC.

Soooo-

Does that mean you think that the Twins are for-sure finishing in 1st.?

Or might fall to 3rd?

I posted my own diatribe on Guranteed (Not g)Rate Field a couple years ago.

Yet another thing the Sox and the City of Chicago royally screwed up back in the early 90s. They had a great chance to get their own version of Camden Yards- in order to grab some attention away from the Wrigley Field shrine- but they blew it.

Great seeing Kepler in the lineup, even if it is at DH after the wall collision yesterday.I love, love, love the long balls but a gem by Berrios would excite me more than anything tonight.
