I think I spot a trend...So unfortunate for Sano and Twins.  Ugh.

Regular season average .199
Off season average 1.000

Onay, so this comment is probably inappropriate and I shouldn’t respond, but... damn, it’s funny.

I doubt much more happens with this story and hopefully he can get his head focused on his career. But i am pleased that the Twins were not agressive and didn't buy up his first few years of free agency.

There is something out three about being innocent until proven guilty...

Guess it does not apply to certain Twins' fans...

Falvine should hop a flight to Venezuela with a contract extension in hand.

Buy low.

There's really no question that Sano is more interested in the stereotypical pro athlete lifestyle than actually being a good MLB player. Whatever the exact details in this incident, I have little hope that he will do what he needs to do to get on track as a baseball player.

At this point, the Twins just have to hope he is able to do well enough to build up some trade value, either at the deadline (not in contention) or after 2019.

It reminds me of the Twins fan that made the sign for Game 163 a couple days of Cabrera got a DUI:

Just a guess but most innocent people don't offer to pay medical bills.

Most good people with the means to do so, offer to pay medical bills in an accident, innocent or not.

Innocent until proven guilty applies to the government taking your life or liberty away.

It doesn't apply to decisions regarding employment statuses, media reporting, or personal opinions of people.

None of us have the authority to take his life or liberty, this is not a court of law.

So much this.

I find it pretty hard to stand up and cheer when he hits a home run.

DFA him and move on from this waste of time; I don't care how many home runs he hits.

Reminds me of this teenage refugee from Somalia I worked with as a special ed paraprofessional.  He just couldn't stay out of trouble.  At one point he was asking how much it would cost to pay the judge to make his troubles go away.  I did my best to steer him away from that idea, even though, where he came from, that was the way things worked.  He later made the second page of the newspaper, for attempting to bribe a police officer who'd pulled him over.  He was a good kid, and I hope that jail time didn't just make his problems worse.

I'd been mentally preparing myself to see Sano depart this winter, probably for pennies or maybe dimes on the dollar.  Now...well, I hope he's as "innocent" as can be in this situation, but this is about strike 3 for me.  Maybe 4.

Reminds me of the Seinfeld where George comes stumbling out of the bathroom with his pants around his legs, yelling "Art Van Delay! Tell them Art Van Delay lives here!" at Kramer, as part of a scam to not lose his unemployment benefits.  As he lies writhing on the floor, Jerry looks down on him and disdainfully says, "And you want to be my latex salesman."

And you want to be our franchise player, Miguel.  [shakes head and walks away.]

You know that there is something called defamation, no?

Unfortunately, he did not sue when he got defamed (based on all the non-evidence and the MLB investigation) last off-season.I hope he does it now...

I am sadden to hear this. The "Field of Dreams" is littered with the shattered remains and broken souls of those who quested for immortaility, and in doing so... attained it.

At this point, I would rather see Sano get his life on track and be a good son, husband, father; even if it means he never plays another inning a baseball again. This is just a game. Take a knee before God Sano and pray that he grants you the strength to be a better man.

Dude, back off. I'm not judging Sano here but defamation includes intentional negligence in the statement. Sano was detained for running over somebody. Maybe he was in the right, maybe he was in the wrong, but...

Stop the armchair lawyering. You're not a lawyer. I'm not a lawyer but I'm married to one and it has only made me realize how much I *don't* know about the law.

So just ease the hell up.

Also, for those ready to crucify Sano... Ease the hell up until you know WTF is going on. Stop playing to your biases. We'll find out more soon enough.

The comments sure are in stark contrast to the outrage when a couple local writers questioned his character.
