Thorpe was promoted? Good for him.Actually, Thorpe was called up yesterday and pitched for Rochester today, I think taking Stewart’s place in the rotation.
After all those injuries, the guy is still only 22 years old and now in AAA. Pretty amazing.

I'm still a Thorpe believer.

Thorpe was good tonight, that is a great sign

Especially since he has well exceeded his career high in innings pitched. His career high in innings pitched was 83 which he did last year, so far he has pitched 114 1/3 innings this year and looks stronger now than when he started the season! I think Thorpe still has some ceiling in his potential.Thorpe was good tonight, that is a great sign

Busenitz, Curtiss and Reed . . . sounds like a law practice.
Kudos to Thorpe being promoted to Rochester; last night pitched a quality start but lost 3-2, 9 strikeouts 0 walks, not a bad start.
Adrianza at 1B, really?
Can I both dislike Logan Forsythe because he is not Brian Dozier, and like him because he is not Brian Dozier?
Slated to toe the rubber tonite in the minors: Romero, Enns, Pineda, Enlow.

Great to see the team playing well at home. Addition by subtraction with Dozier being gone? I can't quite put my finger on why he bugged me so much, but I have to think if we were team mates that I would not want to share my Fogo De Chao with him.

You know how the season is going when almost a third of the posts are about players who didn't even play in the game that was recapped in the OP.
Impressive afternoon from the bullpen.Rogers is looking like a real weapon against lefties late in the game.

Stuff happens, but with Berrios you hope that it does not get between his ears. He tends to overthink
That sounds like quite a prognosis from the armchair.
Last year the young pitcher clearly started to get worn down in July, this year it looks like it's August. Last year he got a second wind and recovered nicely to finish the season. This year he's also averaging 6 1/3 innings per start as opposed to last years 5 2/3 innings per start.
But I'll admit, my take is only a theory.
