Figured it deserved its own thread, because it implies another roster move soon -- Mejia was scheduled to start on Sunday in Detroit.

It will probably be Fernando Romero, who last started Sunday Aug. 5 for Rochester (and he did quite well). Could also be Littell on regular rest, although his Tuesday start was poor this week.

Gonsalves and De Jong just pitched the last two days for Rochester, so it won't be them. Non-40-man, Kohl Stewart is scheduled to start tonight for Rochester.

As for who gets sent down Sunday to make room for the starter, I'd guess Duffey. Although they could DFA Oliver Drake yet again. Seems doubtful we could make another trade by Sunday.

I'd guess Romero or Littell.....I hope Romero.

Given that Stewart has to be protected again this year, I'd be ok with it being him. Why not?

I remain hopeful on Buxton and Sano.....but I'd not bet the franchise on them.

Scott Klingenbeck?

He'd need a 40-man spot, but I would guess he is well-rested.

Lewis Thorpe?? Hey he’s on the 40 man and probably soon done for the year so why not see what the 22 yr old can do. If he bombs send him back to Chattanooga or shut him down for the rest of season. Just throwing it out there.

Or they might actually see the light and cut/trade Morrison.

Well, if you don't think Stewart will be selected in Rule 5 again (or if he's selected, you think he could be returned), then you're probably better off leaving him off the roster for now.

Lewis Thorpe??

Good idea, I should have mentioned him too. But Thorpe just pitched on Wednesday, so Sunday would be short rest for him.

Stewart is scheduled to start for Rochester tonight, Romero on Saturday, and Littell on Sunday.

Take your pick among the last 2.

Yup, it is a game theory exercise.

Me? I'd like to see what he does in the majors, if I'm the Twins. I think someone selects him next year, there are some really bad teams/staffs out there. He's worth a risk, imo, for someone.

Yup. I hope it's Romero, and they just let Rochester do a bullpen game on Saturday.

Although I suppose the Twins could do a bullpen game on Sunday instead, but that would feel pointless.

I hope it isn’t Littell. At this point he hasn’t earned another look, especially over Romero and Gonsalves. I find Littell underwhelming after following him this year, in Chattanooga he had an ERA over 5, and in Rochester has a 3.5ish ERA with questionable control/command. He’s more of who should be called up in September than Gonsalves or Romero at this point. Just my opinion, nothing personal.

Yeah, I was looking at potential 40-man additions in another thread, and they probably have room for Stewart if they want.

But if they're going to add him to the 40-man and keep him into 2019, then there really isn't any urgency to move him up to MLB right now either. I'd probably rather see Romero, who could/should be in the opening day rotation next year. And Gonsalves after that.

Scott Klingenbeck is 2 years older than Bartolo Colon.Let that sink in for a moment.

Easy, Romero. He has simply pitched better than Littell. To award Littell with a start is silly IMO because compared to Romero he hasn’t earned it.

The one I like to trot out: Bartolo Colon was born the day before Todd Walker.
