Was he on base? HA HA! Oh yeah, he got thrown out by a mile. Wonder why he bothered to slide. No big loss..... Bring back Drew Butera or John Ryan Murphy. Better yet, Kurt Suzuki.

Yeah, that pretty good offense and good defense Castro gave the team last year was pretty terrible.

Yes, because this team obviously needs a 35 year old career 587 OPS guy.

The sad part is he is about all the organization has for catching "prospects".

It’s a pretty ugly situation on the farm.

Kurt Suzuki hitting .300 with 5hr and a .900+ ops.... What a nightmare...

Shhhhhhhh..... catchers can't hit.

I hate injuries. These guys work hard to entertain is, and then they get hurt. At least now we get to see what Garver can do, or not. But I'd have preferred it not to happen to way.

Suzuki and Castro have identical career OPS. Haven't you been critical of Castro's bat?

Ben Rortvedt went 2-for-4 with a homer last night. Call. Him. Up. :)

I'm pretty low on Castro, but this is not good for the Twins and I hope Castro heals up quick.

I am not that interested in career stats, especially for this discussion. Career stats won't make Pujols worth his salary, for example. Now is all there is. History is fun, notable, sometimes remarkable, but over. Career stats don't help a team this year. This year's stats, do.

I haven't been outspoken about Castro, but I have never been enamored. Not at the signing, not with his creating wild pitches and passed balls out of pitches that a catcher should stop or catch or block. I was pleasantly surprised that he hit some last year. But this discussion is about who is taking his place, not Castro.

Well by that token Wilson's milb stats aren't hurting the Twins either.
He's as capable as any baseball player of going on a fluky, unsustainable hot streak at the plate.
So if we're only allowed to judge each player based on their current snapshot at the mlb level, then why are you ripping Wilson's bat?

Nevermind. I really don't care that much. The options are not pleasing. Sell it if you want.

Castro is the Twins best catcher. Not having him hurts.

Since 2013, only one catcher has played more innings than Castro.

It's official. We received more for board scapegoat John Ryan Murphy, than we did for board favorites Pinto, Arcia, and Vargas combined.

Is it just me, or did Wilson look better than Castro and Garver last night? Have our catchers been THAT bad so far?

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Ramos can hit and catch. Oh, that's right, we already wasted him for Matt Capps.

Two front offices ago.

So long ago that Ramos has already gone into free agency.

Time to stop beating that horse. It's been dead for half a decade.

I grow less and less impressed with Garver every week.

And I didn't start out with a very high opinion.

Hurry back Castro.

Castro is below replacement so far this year, and that does not take into account the Twins pitchers' ERA is nearly 2 full runs worse when they pitch to Castro than the other guys.

I don't mind him making outs when he bats, but Castro needs to be markedly better in the other areas when he returns.

It is sad that Castro is someone we miss. He has created so many wild pitches that should have been caught or blocked that I have a hard time missing him, and wish for a catcher other than him. And when he doesn't hit at all, it gets even worse. Garver sure has made some bonehead plays, I agree, especially that play up the line where he didn't just pick up the ball and get the tag or force out instead of doing nothing and letting the run score and runner be safe at first. Right up there with Granite at Dodger Stadium.

Seems my first response with the same tone was deleted with no explanation or notice. Hmmmmmm

Ramos will be available to come home this season as a rental, or at the end of the season as a free agent. That horse is alive and very well. And Castro would be a great backup.
