Cole and Cobb were my favorite starters to acquire this offseason.Do they cancel each other out?

Watching the #20 Gophers beat up on #17 Indiana - they have this freshman starter out of Washington, Patrick Fredrickson, throwing a 1 hit shutout. His season so far, not counting today: 6-0, 1.61 ERA. He went un-drafted out of high school. 6'6" redhead.:) Doesn't look to have big velocity, but he must be doing something right. Only 44 hits allowed in over 60 IP.

Gophers winning 8-0 in the 6th.

If I lived in the Cities, I would definitely pay a visit to Siebert Field.

see that the Royals put up 10 runs (and 4 HRs) up in the first inning against the Orioles so I go look for the equivalent of TwinsDaily for O's fans.

The despair is as bad as it was here a week ago, but the language, as they say, leaves much to be desired. A much higher class of fan here. Minnesota nice or something.

Oh, and I checked in on the game on TV and Camden Yards is all but empty this evening. A nasty tumble for a great franchise.

Bartolo Colon took a 102 mph shot to the belly and shook it off like a mosquito bite.

Okay, watching la gran final of Mexican soccer on Univision, and suddenly the tomahawk chop breaks out, same melody, same gesture by the fans. Bizarro.

Do the Braves still push that?

And he still has some magic left in that arm... Should have kept him instead of signing Lynn ;)

Ohtani has the most devastating pitch in baseball right now.

Jordan Hicks of the Cardinals is the hardest throwing pitcher in baseball, and he can't strike anyone out.

Some numbers: 2.05 ERA, 5.3 H/9, 0 HR/9, 6.5 BB/9, and 3.7 K/9 in 22 innings.

All he needs to do is throw a 105 MPH sinker! Easy enough.

They're both ground ball machines, and I'm a fan of the heavy sankers. I haven't given up yet :)

It's tough to strike out major league hitters with one pitch...especially when you don't know where it's going. What's happening is hitters see the 3 digits light up on the radar and they get aggressive...swing at the first ball in the zone. And if he doesn't have deception with a quality secondary pitch that he can throw for a strike...which seems to be the case...batters are able to put the ball in play.Of course, with the aggressive approach on the 100 mph fastball, you can expect BABiP to be below average...and it is well below average.Small samples...but this is what appears to be happening with him.

Trout already has the 16th most WAR among CF in history....and he's 27. That, apparently, is the average WAR for CF in the HoF.....and hes not even eligible yet. Wow.

Now the Rays are punting the season. But they are acquiring high minors players.... So not necessarily for long.

I wonder if other teams will trade earlier than normal....

Cleveland's bullpen is a disaster tonight.

2.2 IP 5 pitchers used 11 ER

Wasted a gem start by KluBot.

Been watching Jacob deGrom pitch for the Mets on FS1 after the Twins nice 7-1 win - wowza, never watched him throw before; not bad for a 9th round pick.

He's a good one. Also, watching a short-haired deGrom pitch to a skinny Kyle Schwarber is quite a reality check. :)

I was at that game! Had outstanding tickets, too, but there's not really a bad seat at Petco. Great baseball venue, great food and beer options, too, if you're ever in San Diego.
