Although there are a few days left until this gets decided, it doesn't look like there will many decisions to make. If you assume that the Twins are adding a starter(Darvish), and they are done adding relief pitchers, twenty four spots are pretty set.

I went back and looked at last year's opening day roster and I think 2018 matches up very favorably. Seven pitchers and two bench players will be different, and I contend they are to a man an upgrade.Let's take a look;

Looks a lot better with Darvish.

They will likely need 7 starters at some point in the first two months. Using Duffey’s option to start him in AAA would offer a lot more hope for depth than the options we saw early last year.

I knew it was the case but seeing how little lineup turnover there will be season over season is kinda amazing.

I'd wait to do such a comparison until, say, March 15th.

This is a different off-season and lots of FAs are unsigned, and the Marlins wholesale is not over yet.I suspect that the Twins might have some opportunities to add where they did not expect to add.For example if they can sign either Carlos Gomez or Carlos Gonzales to an one year contract late in the off-season, all bets are off.

There are more than 100 FAs out there for the taking...
