This is the guy they should be pursuing. Not gonna be cheap in prospects, but worth it, imo.

I remain hopeful on Buxton and Sano.....but I'd not bet the franchise on them.

"Cheap in prospects" is relative. The Twins undervalue Vargas, for example. They can simply package up who they don't want.

...but I think the Twins feel good with their C situation as it is.

Not sure catcher is the position of highest need at the moment. You would have to include Garver into the deal to make it make sense in my opinion.

I love it, was just looking at him the other day. But people on here will probably hate it because we might have to give up a catcher who is older than him and has 1450 less major league at bats. You know because the idea of a prospect is worth more than somebody who has already done more than we can expect out of our prospect.

Garver is older, and has almost no MLB at bats....right? Sounds good to me.

I don't think the Twins have the prospect capital to go after both Realmuto and improve the pitching staff. Pitching is a higher priority for me.

I'd rather they sign Darvish, or Lynn and Cobb, and make this trade. But, I can't disagree with your stance.

Trade Garver plus Gordon, so Miami can still have a Gordon playing there. Since Gimanez was Darvish'spersonal catcher at Texas, would Darvish plus Gimanez be a package deal?

I'd be interested if the Twins still have the pieces after trading for an arm; starting pitching is still my #1 and #2 priority.

That said, perhaps it's just me, but the front office seems to be awfully fond of Castro.

I doubt the new brain trust is going to add a new starting catcher after they made a starting catcher their big priority of last season.

That said, I do like him and would be happy if we got him. Considering some of the joke trades the new Miami FO is making, maybe we could get him cheaper than we expect.

If that timing worked like you laid out, it would be pretty sweet - that's quite a tightrope walk

No kidding. I don't think this happens in a million years, but a guy can dream.

He’ll cost more in prospects than Stanton.

And? He's worth more than Stanton and his contract.

I'm with you on this Mike...send them Castro (along with whatever it takes to make it a cost neutral deal for Marlins $8M-Realmuto Arb figure) or Garver along with 2nd tier pitching prospect (not Gonsalves/Romero) and their Middle Infielder of choice if needed

Realmuto is what Castro was supposed to be defensively with a .290 average

Free Agent Starter has to be purchased and if the Pirates strikeout with Yankees nab Cole in February when all of this falls into place and I'll see 38,000 of my close personal friends at Target Field all summer long

Is it 2020 yet?

I am not saying straight up deal. Garver included in a deal with other prospects.

Personally I'd do the trade (still, I want my pitchers first) but Realmuto only has three years of control left.

Ya, for some reason I thought he had four. Still do it....but a tiny bit less into it.
