No surprise. In fact, in his article last night, Nick noted that it was an obvious decision. Today the Twins announced that they have declined to pick up the 2018 option on Glen Perkins contract. He is now a free agent.

I wonder if he’ll file for FA or announce his retirement.

My guess is that he will retire.  I wish him the best in his next en devour, even if its with another team.

Perkins had a great revival.  No regrets.

With that final outing he had, I have to imagine he's going to call it quits. But I suppose he could give things one more shot - he was touching 93mph and his problems were control-related, not "getting guys out"-related.

But if not, I'd love to see him take a Torii Hunter or LaTroy Hawkins type of role with the team.

If someone offers him a spring training invite...and someone will...I bet he accepts.

New pitching coach? ;)

I’d love for him to get a shot somewhere as a roving or assistant coach in the Twins minor league system.
