In my 20's I was playing basketball against some guy in his 30's.  He didn't look all that athletic. After the game I said to my brother " I can't believe that guy scored on me". My brother told me who he was and I said " I can't believe I scored off him".  Greg Thayer.

The only player to be the first overall pick in the amateur draft in two separate years, DANNY GOODWIN.

Goodwin was initially drafted first overall in the 1971 MLB draft by the Chicago White Sox, but chose to attend Southern University. Four years later, he was again selected with the first overall pick by the California Angels.

He played 172 games with the Twins from 1979 to 1981 and hit .242 with 8 home runs for the Twins.

This guy never played above A Ball before being promoted to the Twins.  Cal Griffith saw him in A ball and said "This guy is doomed to be an all star".  Jim Eisenreich.  He was a much better player than Gladden and if he didn't have his health issues maybe he would have been the left fielder in the glory days. Of course, maybe he would have been the center fielder and Puckett would have been traded.  Who knows?

Jim Hughes - Pitcher. I remember as a kid following him in 1975.  He got off to a fairly hot start,  6-1 record through May with an excellent ERA and I thought we had a real Ace. Well as it turned out not so much.

Dave Hollins, 7 hr in April then struggled with diabetes, lost his power and traded to Seattle for David Arias. Arias changed his name to Ortiz a year or two later and became fairly well known lol
