Most of us are probably aware that Vargas has been sent down again. Interesting factoid: He has two of the six longest HR's in the majors this year according to MLB.com.

Interesting. No doubt that he is strong.

Does StatCast measure bat speed on strikeouts? Or the margin by which the bat missed the ball? Surely those metrics must be coming up if they are not here yet.

I believe that will be 6:48 Local Apparent Sidereal Time in Minneapolis.

For those who are going WHAT???? (me for one) its:

Compute Local Apparent Sidereal Time. Sidereal time is the hour angle of the vernal equinox, the ascending node of the ecliptic on the celestial equator. The daily motion of this point provides a measure of the rotation of the Earth with respect to the stars, rather than the Sun.

So happy that I know that now  :whacky028:

I've wondered the same thing. It would be good info for the coaches and team, but possibly embarrassing for players like Buxton.

So the next thing is to determine what year it is. I think a close estimate is 13,820,000,000 ABB (anno bigus bangus).

Or maybe bring up Granite? (Though he's likely to have a Rocky start.)

I'll tolerate the rough batting average if he keeps providing the outfield defense that he has so far this year.
