Yeah, actually I agree. Not sure who I'll root for in the playoffs but it might be the Dodgers

I'm rooting for the Twins.

No, no quite the opposite.

Delmon Young = 2nd greatest player of this generation!

I've mentally blocked all Delmon Young memories from my brain.... I didn't remember at all that he was actually pretty good for the Twins in 2010. Then the wheels completely fell off after that.

Delmon Young:

so far ahead physically (and exposure to MLB players and coaches) when young, with little room for maturity=over rated player by scouts/every one.

I don't know, it is a site to discuss sports, not airline safety.....maybe we should take it less seriously?

Cleveland picks up OF Jay Bruce from the Mets for something called Ryder Ryan, a RP in A ball. Ryan wasn't on Cleveland's top 30 prospect list on MLB.com.

Cleveland's OF combined prior to the trade hit 37 HRs on the season. Bruce has 29 himself.

And, the Mets could have had $1MM and 2 prospects, but chose the $3.7MM instead.

They might be the worst run team in baseball.

How are they still in so much financial trouble? Or is the owner really that cheap to take the $2.7 MM in cash savings over better prospects?

Didn't he lose a ton of money in the Madoff scandal?

The Mets make money hand over fist, however. The Wilpons can claim financial woes, but it's not due to the Mets losing anything.

People on Braves Twitter are going ballistic. "He's making a major league start and they just got cash for him?!"

People are funny sometimes.

Might be true.

From reports I heard, there were concerns with his fielding as he has progressed. Probably something the Red Sox would have preferred to tighten up before promoting. He did have some good games offensively.

He was rushed, but it's not necessarily a bad thing. Kid has talent, the Red Sox have a clear need at his position, it is worth a shot. He may rise to the occasion.

1.074 OPS with fine defense so far for Devers.
Only 16 games, so we'll have to keep monitoring it, but so far doesn't looked rushed at all.
Not every prospect needs x amount of time in the minors.
Every single one is different.

I was just thinking about this back and forth. Devers has been awesome so far.

It is one reason I was not as offended with the Twins pushing the elite talent like Buxton, even though he flopped. You don't know.

And he won. 5 IP, 1 run (1st inning solo HR). Retired the last 8 batters he faced, but pulled at 77 pitches.

Since the start of July, here are Albers' AAA stats: 8 GS, 55.1 IP, 0.98 ERA, 6-0 W-L, 1.5 BB/9, 8.0 K/9.

I would only be impressed if he went more than 8 innings of shutout ball, like he did in his first couple of Twins starts.

Wow, watching the Padres polish off the Phillies, and San Diego put in a sub in left field that out Hrbeks Hrbek: Matt Szczur. If you allow names in hangman, that wins every time.

They pronounced it like Caesar.

Wonder if that's a name that got mangled at Ellis Island.
