Yeah, this kid is a stud. Looks like a solid #2 guy thus far, he keeps up what he did tonight? we might have ourselves the first legit front of the rotation SP since Liriano and santana.

Sano=stud
Buxton, starting to come apround.
Kepler, polanco, Vargas, Dozier, Castro: solid role players.

Berrios and Santana: solid 1-2 punch it's looking like.

To do list:
-Fix the bullpen
-get a true #3 type starter to help stabilize the rotation a bit.

Get it done new regime!

Let's get Mejia up and pitching well as the 5th starter If he pitches well, then maybe Hughes is the 5th starter.
Berrios is awesome!

If Berrios is this good then we need to see more of Tepesch because he is better than Berrios.

BRING TEPESCH BACK!

Is 2016 2017 2018 the year that a good pitching prospect is truly blocked by 5 good pitchers in the starting rotation?

Offseason (noun) - a time to propose trades assuming opposing GM's can't do the same basic analysis

I still think they need another solid arm they can count on. A Clayton richard type (hat tip: common man)

Also that potentially opens up Hughes to the pen if he struggles or arm fatigue (where he could be pretty effective)

Just think how much better he would be if he spent a few more weeks in AAA....

No, but likely better than whoever starts Saturday.

Also it's more than likely that at least one of Hughes, Santiago or Meija gets injured or becomes ineffective.

Literally nobody else (besides Duffey) who ha a chance to succeed this year for the rotation, and they won't move Duffey back to rotation.

Never can have enough SP!

That was the most fun I have had watching a Twins pitching performance in a long time. Most unhitable mix since Lirianos slider (on a good day) or Johans change. Most times watching a Twins pitcher lately I am hoping our defense is in the right place.

Let's test that theory using Tepesch - if he spends the next two years in AAA he should be ready to win the Cy Young in 2019, right?

It doesn't matter if they brought him up last week, midseason, or September, it would've been the "right time," in every scenario....pretty convenient...

think to a person everyone here wishes Berrios was up sooner (or in some cases a lot sooner)

I think we should just enjoy the performances so far, and hope it continues.

Besides if the Twins miss the playoffs by 2-3 games this year, then we can spend all off season complaining about this 🤗

Also very convenient for people who want to complain is the fact that in this day and age every move can instantly be scrutinized in a vacuum and torn to shreds. It's a good time to be a hater/malcontent/grouch!

A good time is 'while the team is still in first place,' and that's exactly what it was.

Now maybe it's Burdi's time, too.

It's pretty damn nice to see a pitching prospect finally working out. Berrios certainly deserves it for all his hard work as well. As far as pulling of a trade to pull in another pitcher, I just don't see that happening. The only person we really have to trade is Dozier and there isn't much of a market. Not to mention it would likely make the team worse anyways.

Hughes to the bullpen.  His progress has been mediocre at best.  We have three pitchers in the rotation and until someone else in the minors looks like they can come through it will have to be Mejia and Gibson filling our the rotation.

Who is the next young pitcher?  I read the minor league reports and the ones that were rated high in our prospect lists do not seem to be performing at a level to interest the MLB team.
