Del Rosario's most recent start was June 22 at Quad Cities. This was the first game following the all star break, and Del Rosario turned in a very good effort.

His pitching line June 22:

  • 6 IP, 2 hits, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 SO

Colton Davis and Hector Lujan combined to pitch three perfect innings at the end.

Del Rosario started for the Kernels earlier this afternoon, June 28, in a 5-2 loss to Burlington. The Bees scored all their runs in a 5-run third inning.

  • 5.1 IP, 3 hits, 5 R, 5 ER, 4 BB, 4 SO

Del Rosario walked three batters in the third, eventually surrendering a 3-run home run that inning.

Otherwise, Del Rosario retired the side in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th innings, before running into trouble again in the 6th. Del Rosario was at 76 pitches when he was lifted.

Del Rosario was promoted to Ft. Myers in July. Congrats to him!

His final three Cedar Rapids starts were good:

July 4:

  • 7.0 IP, 3 hits, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 SO

July 10:

  • 6.0 IP, 6 hits, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO

July 17:

  • 6.0 IP, 5 hits, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 SO

Over the past two seasons, Del Rosario made 34 starts in A ball. His overall record in A is 13-8 with a 4.06 ERA

Good luck to him in A+

The 2017 season was Eddie Del Rosario's fifth season in the organization.

Del Rosario began as the Opening Day starter for Cedar Rapids, throwing six shutout innings in that game. He battled through inconsistency the first part of the year to finally earn a promotion to Ft. Myers in July. Del Rosario was inconsistent in Ft. Myers as well, and was reassigned back to Cedar Rapids after four starts to pitch in the bullpen. He was effective in relief with Cedar Rapids, throwing 6.2 scoreless innings over 5 appearances in August. For September, he was then promoted back to Ft. Myers to pitch in relief, but allowed 5 runs in his lone relief appearance there.

It was truly an up-and-down year for Del Rosario.
