no worries, he can catch pop ups :-)

If he can rust fast enough to them. I presume there will be some funny moments. FYI, I like Plouffe, seems like a fine man. But he runs SLOWLY.

Yeah no kidding.  That place is HUGE...

and ugly besides. (I used to live there. No place to see a game. But they do have some good drumming and shouting going on the rightfield section)

Yeah the Coliseum has seen much better days, that place is a toilet bowl of a stadium.

Which place is worse to watch a baseball game?

Oakland Stadium? or MetroDome?

Metro Dome was the worst by far. Baseball colored roof, damn turf, etc., etc.

At the least the A's play outside, often in the sunshine.

Oakland, easily.  I've watched a ton of games sitting in each stadium (I've PLAYED on the Oakland field a few times) and Oakland was always the worst experience.

It's a hole, the city itself is mostly nasty too (or was when I used to go there, who knows now), and when I used to go to the park, the BART system was the only safe option to get there.  My Dad refused to drive to the park.

I've only been to Oakland once, in 1986. The best Metrodome seats were far better than the best Oakland seats, which is damning by faint praise. I'll concede sunshine vs the roof and all that, but in terms of viewing the game itself I'd say Oakland was worse.

I know this post was regarding fielding in Oakland, but it reminded me that this Plouffe video may be even more ridiculous.

Strib confirms, through Ken Rosenthal, that Trevor Plouffe has signed with Oakland.

Good for him. The California boy will be playing just north of I-5 from his home.

He seems like a perfect fit for the As.

Over/under on how many dingers he will hit v. Twins pitchers over the rest of his career?

2-3'm million! That is a great deal for the a's! I'd think it has to be more like 5 million.
Do or do not. There is no try.

Not even close. Oakland's stadium is the biggest $hit hole I've ever seen in professional sports. Went to one game there and that was enough! The dome had some awesome moments. They need to move to San Jose.

Sure but that's because he's going to play until he's 60.
