If Span is traded (something I am not hoping for). Who will be the Twins starting Right Fielder? Would it be Mastroianni, some bum we acquire in the "Span Trade" like Roger Bernadina, Chris Parmelee or someone else? My preference would be Parmelee. If he plays everyday I believe he can be an offensive asset. It will definitely not be the ideal situation defensively, but what the hey - Benson and Hicks are not ready. It would be nice to see Parmelee play everyday to make a judgement on whether his offensive struggles were caused by a lack of playing time or simply being over matched at the MLB level. Parmelee can play RF and we are in the midst of a washed out season... why not?

I agree, I really hope that we hang onto Span but I think the writing is on the wall. If he goes, I hope they give Parmelee some everyday AB's. Just like Revere and Plouffe, once they get some consistent playing time we will see the real player we have.

I would like to see Parmelee and Mastro kinda in tandem with Parmelee also getting first base time. I actually think Morneau is a logical tradebait candidate right now. When September rolls around, I would love to see Hicks brought up and given a September showcase.

Parmelee, Mastro and Doumit would probably all get some time out there. Maybe they bring up Thomas or Matt Carson? If he continues to play well, Hicks could be a sept call-up.

Not that it really matters, but I think it would be somewhat of a revolving door, with Doumit, Mastro and Parmelee all getting time there. Carson and Wilken Ramirez are doing pretty well at Rochester and another good month from Hicks might be enough to give him a shot. I am for Parmelee getting more major league at-bats although I don't think it will do any harm to give him another 200 PAs at Rochester.

I will say it is nice to see that Hicks is picking up the pace at AA, but with another 1-1/2 months of the MiLB season left to play - we need to see how Hicks closes it out. He still has a lot of work to do offensively. My bet is that he is not a September call up. I would Super Triple Hate to see Thomas, Ramirez, or Carson steal AB's away from Parmelee. Parmelee is a part of the Twins future, these other guys are almost with certainty not. Sure, Mastro, Doumit and maybe even Mauer will get a few spot starts out in RF. It would be a damn shame to not see Parmelee get the AB's if the Span trade scenario becomes reality.

Please God NO Clete Thomas!! He is nothing but a AAA player. I would love to see Benson get healthy and see some AB's as I don't see Parmalee as an outfielder at all. I understand getting him some AB's but it needs to be somewhere else.

In MiLB Parmelee has 342 games played at 1B v. 286 games played in the OF. I see him as a 1B/OF - why don't you? Throw him out there!

But... have you really seen Parmelee play the outfield with your own eyes? If so, you should get your answer why he is not an outfielder. Delmon is a much better outfielder, for example.

To answer the original question (who's on right), another name has to be (re)added to the equation (at least for 2013 and beyond) : Trevor Plouffe. Of course, the "wisdom" is that he has been hitting so well while playing 3B, why change that... but... that is crap. If he hits well at 3B he should be able to hit well at RF.

we're probably talkin a July 31 type deal....so Mastoianni would probably be the guy out there for the next couple wks after that. Wouldnt be shocked to see Benson/Arcia recalled to play/platoon RF real soon after the suppossed trade. Hicks will eventually be recalled this yr....so as long as he's not optioned back, its a free look for MN. Rene Tosoni is also on the 40 man roster, so it'd be him before Clete Thomas or Matt Carson, who arent on the 40 man

Benson is just starting rehabing at Fort Myers with the Miracle. Tosoni the same with the GCL Twins. I really don't see them ready this season and I think that Tosoni might go off the 40-man anytime and there would be no problem. Arcia is an option but he got to hit the curve.

Geez.

There is nothing you can say or any statistic you can present to me that convinces me that Delmon is a better OFer than Parmelee. Hell, he is probably a better outfielder than our beloved LFer.

As for Trevor Plouffe - his defense at 3B has been average+. I have seen all of them play consistently. On the Matter of Plouffe - you are a plain and simple Anti-Plouffetist. Fess up to it. Go to confession. Burn some incense and dance for Mother Earth.

I hope there is some cosmic occurence that connects yours and Ron Gardenhire's brain in which you get to hear all of his thoughts on baseball and life and it continuously streams through your thought process, In this scenario - you hear him, but he never hears you.... HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

they forced Parmelee into the OF because they had Morneau at 1B. Whether or not he is worse than Delmon is not the issue. The issue is that he is terrible in the OF. Throw him out there for an occasional start is alright but let's not throw him out there everyday.

Yes he is. And better at RF that at LF too...

No. I actually have been one of the few Plouffe supporters when there were practically none. Before there was a bandwagon, before he was hitting HRs, when he was making those throws to the stands from SS last season. So that is that. I like Plouffe. But I have no problem seeing him at RF with Sano and Harrison coming up. One of those 3 has to play 3rd, the other RF, and the 3rd 1B. Or something like that.

That is an awful thing to say. You do not want the manager of the millennium to commit suicide? Do you?

1. I meant that Parmelee is probably a better LF than Willingham. It would have been nice to see Delmon Play RF for the Twins. (shoulders shrugged)

2. I have as well and I get you. Plouffe seems to be the more spry of the 3. Who knows what will happen - but Plouffe has done a fine job at 3B.

3. I don't want anyone to commit suicide:(

Sano and Harrison aren't coming up until 2014 (at least) and neither might be capable 3B fielding. Leave Plouffe at 3B where he's played well. Parmelee, Doumit, Mastroianni handle RF until September call-ups where one or 2 of Benson/Hicks is up. Shouldn't be a problem.

You probably won't see them until 2016 at the earliiest. Worldsof potential,, long ways away. If either would have been able to make a midseaon jump then you might think 2014.

Benson/Tosoni would be an extra 3 wks into the rehab/New Brit return by July 31, but it could also go a couple wks into AUG with Mastro fillin in till then
