If Pino pitches 6 full innings and allows 1 run and 3 unearned runs, is it a Quality Start ?

Back to the dreaded five-run lead.

I'll risk it in preference to a five run deficit. :)

You're not stealing the base, Danny.

Too lazy to page through game threads...

Someone was sayin' they wanted to see Vargas at bat with the bases loaded?

I think this is his second such at bat in this game.

What's he gonna do?

The nucleus of your 2015 Minnesota Twins.

and, just to be fair, the other team is the nucleus of Detroit's AA pitching staff.  i hope we get to see them in game 2 tonight, too.

The Twins should be real patient with Verlander tonight.... even if he blanks them, if they can rack up a high pitch count quickly, they get to the Detroit pen, who has nothing left at this point.

No doubt. My new favorite Twin.

Can everyone now agree (except KLaw, of course), that KLaw was just a little off in his assessment of Kennys Vargas?

Oh, yeah.  And it was pretty obvious they had nothing left last night, even when they had an entire pen on two day's rest.  Tigers a team in disarray.

I think he had legitimate concerns but as can be the case with KLaw, hyperbole overrode legitimate concern and turned into click bait.

There are still concerns about Vargas. His success is exciting but PAs 100-300 will be very telling.
