Wow - what a route to that catch.

I've never seen major league outfielders play that shallow on a hitter before. It's almost like they thought there was still just one out :(

The clever strategy behind giving up the leadoff HR in the 10th is that you're only behind by one run after that.Much better than diddling around and then giving up the grand slam.

A loss today could stall our march to the playoffs.

May all our prospects be All Stars and the beer be free.

It's practically a cliche by now, but how often do you see a guy make a stellar play in the field, and then come up to bat fourth the very next inning? Uncanny.

/ edit - Venable making the catch is my story and I'm sticking with it.

I keep thinking that if they put together that 10-game winning streak, Mauer comes back and turns back into Mauer, Nolasco comes back the way he was supposed to be, and a couple of young guys come up and contribute, and maybe they stay hot after that streak and finish out 25-15 in the other games that aren't part of the streak. That leaves them at 86 wins, 87 if they pick up Perkins after this blown save, and probably steals the last wildcard spot. Then they stay hot in the playoffs, have home-field in the Series, and it's 1987 all over again.

This post will probably get me flagged for a drug test at work, but I don't really think this too often.I just figure if you're going to dream, dream big.Don't waste it on "maybe we can get to .500."

I hope a loss today does not put this in jeopardy.  It will be a bummer if we end the season at 85 wins and just miss the wild card spot.

Now we'll see if these Twins have grit. Its their last chance to win till they leave Oakland.

We waved the white flag when we traded our heart and soul, Fuld.

None of this would have happened if KC wasn't on a pitch limit, burning out the bullpen......

What I just typed is probably an opinion, not a fact. I mean, I'm usually right, so you should maybe assume it is or will be a fact soon, but that's up to you. :)

Perkins threw that one away. I wonder if pitching to Fryer had anything to do with it?

I really want Parmalee to win this game for the Twins.Oh well, :(

A shot of Gardy laughing at something. That is why I like Gardy. He enjoys the game and he enjoys his players.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! what a catch !! :(

Too much Gardy-hating for me (on the Twins website). Thanks for the positive comment.

So all we need for a sniff at the playoffs is a 35-15 finish?Damn, now I'm mad they went into seller mode at the deadline.
