1. 1922, Ken Williams of the St. Louis Browns becomes  baseball’s first 30/30 man. Williams remains the only 30/30 man in baseball for the next 34 years until Willie Mays in 1956.

2. 1972, Nate Colbert of the San Diego Padres drives in 111 runs for a team that only scores 488. This still stands as the highest percentage of a team’s runs ever driven in by a single player.

3. 1974, in his first year as a Dodger, Mike Marshall pitches in 106 games, winning 15 and saving 21 while pitching 208 1/3 innings - becoming the first ever relief pitcher to win the Cy Young award. Marshall remains the only reliever to ever pitch in 100 games or to log over 200 innings.

4. 2007, Placido Polanco of the Detroit Tigers handles 683 chances at second base without making a single error, winning an AL Gold Glove. He remains the only second baseman to ever top both 500 or 600 total chances in a season without an error. In addition, Polanco is awarded a Silver Slugger that season as he hit .341/.391/.458 and scored 105 runs while striking out only 30 times.

That was fun. Polanco was a really underrated player.  From 2001-2010 he was pretty much a 4 WAR player every year.

Cool topic! Thanks,

What I just typed is probably an opinion, not a fact. I mean, I'm usually right, so you should maybe assume it is or will be a fact soon, but that's up to you. :)
