I catch one or two games a week.  Sometimes a few more.  I play softball twice a week, and sometimes I catch the game at the bar after I'm done playing.  I sometimes get to listen to the day games.

Lazy Sundays + day game = perfect time to watch baseball.

I know the Twins are bad this year, but I love watching baseball too much.  I still end up watching/going to many games.

You can come up with statistics to prove anything. Forty percent of all people know that.

No cable.  Will catch an occasional game when doing a Sunday visit to my Mom's.  Luckily, baseball works well with the radio, and of course reading the game threads can really fleshes the game out with the descriptive, insightful posts, so it is almost like being there.

It is too bad, the Vikings are about the only team you can consistently watch on broadcast TV.  A lot different than 20 years ago.  Now with the more specialized sports channels, you cannot even see everything with the regular cable packages - you need to upgrade to a higher level.

Typed out about 300 words on the subject. Post didn't go through. Awesome. Sigh. Long story short, I avoid watching because Bremer and Co are boring/insufferable. Let the KFAN morning crew announce games, then I'll tune in more. I want to watch a game with a buddy who has a big personality, not a humorless father figure that continually points out the obvious, complains about how the game has changed, and either says stuff that doesn't make sense or says stuff that is just plain wrong. That approach may work for a 7 year old or a 67 year old grandmother, but I lose interest pretty quick and often start doing something else while glancing back at the muted game.

I don't need to be told each pitch was ball or strike, I'm watching it. Tell me a story, tell me a joke/anecdote, make me laugh, make me cry, make me think (a little, only sometimes, remember, this is my relaxation time).

Give me the choice of who I get to listen to, the option of getting a different experience. This is not a one-size fits all economy.

I generally watch but somewhat dulsetorily and if I miss parts, so be it.

Hard to keep the enthusiasm up.  People try in the game threads but they are getting pretty half-hearted at times.  And sometimes you can hear the crickets.

Wait, are you saying you want the KFAN morning crew, or that Dick and Bert are so bad that even the KFAN crew would sound good?

Well, for starters, Bert ain't around much these days. But yeah, they would be a huge upgrade over Dick n' Bert in my opinion, though I grant you "insufferable" is a highly subjective term. I'm just saying something that is more fun and more casual.

Don't get me wrong, Dick and Bert are a pretty big part of the reason why I rarely watch the Twins on TV. I would have have no problem with pretty much any complaint levied against them and would love them being replaced.

But our esteemed founder aside, the thought of the KFAN morning crew announcing baseball makes me chuckle. But I also like Gladden as an announcer, so take that for what it's worth.

I'm pretty sure next to insufferable in the dictionary is the picture of the morning crew in question.

Dick and Bert have their flaws....but their flaws could be FAR worse.

Are you sure it's not Hawk?  Too many season of that in Chicago has left me with a very high insufferable tolerance.

One of my favorite things about mlb.tv is the ability to watch away broadcasts. Trust me, it could be worse. I challenge anyone to stay awake for more than an hour during an Indians, Rangers, or Angels game, for example. Or not punch the TV set listening to whoever the math-hating cowboys are that call Reds and Cardinals games. Dick and Bert are easily the best crew in the ALC (although I personally enjoy Rex Hudler (KC) quite a bit, in small doses) and probably in the top half of crews overall.

Well, there's that.

Hawk's picture might be next to a few other words.

I watch them when there is NOTHING else on and even when I do, it's more for background noise while I do stuff around the house.

I don't need to watch AAA talent posing as major leaguers.

With football season here, I will watch very little baseball period as it's a very boring sport.I usually don't even watch much of the world series.Once again, there has to be NOTHING on.

Honestly, 1 or 2 innings of Dick and anybody is about all I can take.

When I do manage to watch, I always mute. That's true of most every sport, really.

Other than soccer, those guys were honest, and also sometimes golf.

I don't know, it is a site to discuss sports, not airline safety.....maybe we should take it less seriously?

I started out the season wanting to check out Gibson, Dozier, and Arcia. Then Santana was worth a look - or a guy like Darnell or Pino - now Vargas is here. I will always be curious to see new prospects and how they fare.

I used to watch Twins broadcasts religiously for the latest breaking news and updates on Bert's bid to enter the Hall of Fame, but I can now rest easy, knowing he has finally made it.

Just to explain the difference -- the Business Journal -24% drop was based on ratings share while the Forbes stat was purely households.

Confusing. I know.

I'll simplify it as much as I can. The Drop from 73 to 71K is cumulative and is statistical noise. It's how many people tuned into the broadcast. They could have flipped over to see a pitch or two. 73 to 71K doesn't take into consideration how long they are watching.

The 24% Drop in ratings in 2014... This takes into account how long they are watching the Twins. The concern would be that people are not watching as many innings as they used to. They are getting frustrated and tuning out.

For those who are bringing up Dick and Bert... They could be playing a role but that's like Sundance worrying about not being able to swim when the fall is probably going to kill you. It's the team and the quality of baseball you are watching.

The ratings are simple... How many are watching and how long they watch. The Twins need to get both (how many and how long) up to level's they once had and playing entertaining baseball while providing a hope of a title is how it happens.
