As Brian Dozier readies himself for his first Home Run Derby competition, here's a reminder of where he is looking for pitches to drive over the fence:

Now with 18 home runs on the year, Dozier has jacked 13 of his 18 dingers on pitches up in the zone. According to ESPN/trumedia, those 13 home runs lead baseball in that category ahead of Albert Pujols (8), Kyle Seager (7) and Josh Donaldson (7).

Whether gods don't seem to be doing any favors:

  • Brian Murphy ‏@murphPPress 11m
Chilly northwest wind howling in from left field at Target Field. Bautista et al righties will need oars to pull HRs in tonight's derby #ASG

Maybe Dozier can line drive 'em under the wind.

I'm so fired up for Doz! Shoulda been all-star but this is going to be fun watching him crank them out. Have we ever had a middle infielder in the home run derby ?
