If you go to Jake Reed's Twitter (jakeyreed5), he's saying his goodbyes to Oregon so this is a done deal from the sounds of it even though he's a Junior. So, he should be finalizing just fine.

Sounds like Reed will be signing either Monday or Tuesday as he said he leaves for Minnesota on Monday.

Who are some of the players that we drafted that are signability risks?

From today's game notes:

I SAW THE SIGN: The Twins have signed 17 more players from the 2014 First-Year Player
Draft, bringing their total of signed draftees to 24:
SATURDAY’S SIGNS PREVIOUS SIGNS
RD 12 Pat Kelly, IF RD 24 Alex Real, C RD 1 Nick Gordon, IF
RD 13 Zach Tillery, RHP RD 26 Blake Schmit, IF RD 3 Michael Cederoth, LHP
RD 14 Tyler Mautner, IF RD 27 Gabriel Ojeda, C RD 4 Sam Clay, LHP
RD 15 Roberto Gonzalez, OF RD 28 Austin Diemer, OF RD 7 Andro Cutuura, RHP
RD 17 Mat Batts, LHP RD 30 Michael Theofanopoulos, LHP RD 8 Keaton Steele, RHP
RD 19 Jarrard Poteete, C RD 33 Trey Vavra, IF RD 9 Max Murphy, OF
RD 21 Onas Farfan, LHP RD 37 Tyree Davis, OF RD 10 Randy LeBlanc, RHP
RD 22 Trevor Hildenberger, RHP RD 38 Brett Doe, C

It's not going to format nicely, but you can get the picture. 16 remain unsigned.

From the top 10 the Twins are 216,900 under slot so they have extra money available to sign some picks should they need it.

Hold on... I need to get my cipher out of a box of Frosted Flakes to read this. :) Godspeed on getting your hard drive replaced.

Thanks. I'm at the point now where the "experts" can't do anything, but they can refer to me to "a guy" that might cost me a grand. I'm going to start over, I think.

The formatting issue was due to it being in a table in the game notes.

I'm interested to see Tyree Davis. He was a pretty highly-regarded kid early in his high school days, but fell off. I expected him just to go to college, but it doesn't appear that he was committed anywhere. Long, lean, a switch-hitter, Perfect Game called him a "high-ceiling" player.

I would consider both him and Gonzalez the lottery tickets we would have liked to see earlier.

Do we know what Roberto Gonzalez, Gabrial Ojeda and Tyree Davis got? Including what they may have recieved, the Twins seem to have just under a quarter million to throw at some of the tough signs.

So the contenders are McCarthy Tatum HS (pick 20), Taylor Hern JC (25), Cameron Avila-Leeper HS (29), Sam Hilliard JC (31), Orynn Veillon HS (32), Mike Baumann HS (34), Brad Mathiowetz HS (35), Kirvin Moesquit HS (36), John Jones HS (39), Dalton Guthrie HS (40).

Of course, if the Twins were of the mind to, they could go 10% over budget without getting draft pick penalties next year.

Looking into it. Only Gonzalez would even be close, from what I can tell.

Isn't over 5% where they would lose their first round pick?

According to Jon Heyman (via Twitter), the Twin and Nick Burdi are close to a deal that will be about slot.

So, then we are just waiting on Burdi (which sounds done basically) and Curtiss? Then, it's just additional "hopefuls" at that point?

Yes, I guess 5% is the number. I was thinking up to 10% is only finacial penalties but looks like that isn't the case. I wonder if that changed.

Imhof, no. 47 overall pick signed with phillies for exactly slot value. Not a commentary on the twins, just reporting the facts

Put it in the freezer for a couple hours and then try putting it back in the system. It won't fix things per say, but it might get you a couple hours of usability to recover your data.

This. It works a surprising amount of the time. Be sure to enclose the HDD in a plastic bag with as much air removed as possible to avoid condensation.

If you get it back up and running, invest in Crashplan.com. It's worth the $6 a month to back up your entire HDD off-site.

I have all my data backed up to a server in-house and then to a remote server with Crashplan. You never realize just how valuable data is until you lose some or all of it.
