Wrong guy. That's a McCartney line.

D'oh, you're right. I thought Lennon wrote it (it is credited Lennon-McCartney) but after a quick search, wiki says that McCartney was the sole author.

In June of 1977, Rod Carew had triples in three consecutive games. No biggie? Four triples in five games? Six in nine games? How about eight triples in fourteen games? More fun... Sir Rodney started that month at .365 and hit .486 throughout which brought his month-ending average to .411. He had three four-hit games, seven (more) three-hit games, five two-hit games for a total of fifteen multi-hit games in June. He went 0-4 against the Red Sox on June 4th and 0-3 against the Royals on the eighteenth. His triple slash was .486/.538/.775 for an OPS of 1.313. Fun times.

We need an admin to rename this thread "Fun with Numbers 2012."

The Twins have played the majority of the season like complete dog **** and yet still find themselves only 8.5 games out of first place, leading up until the all star break we have 3 vs CHI, 4 vs KC, 4 @ DET, 3 @ Tex. If the Twins can win 9 or 10 of those 14 games (very doable) there is a decent chance they can go into the all-star break only down 5 games or so.

In Trevor Plouffe's first 60 AB's of this season, he had 1 HR. In his next 61 AB's he had 7. In his last 54, he has 7 HR's. By comparison, Jose Bautista's splits at those points in 2010: First 58 = 3, Next 61 = 3, Next 61 = 10. Trevor Plouffe's first 175 AB's = 15 HR's Jose Bautista's First 180 AB's = 16 HR's

So the .306 is his OBP? What's his average in that span just out of curiosity?

.250, but as it usually does Average only tells a small part of the story.

It seems your troubles are so far away but I'm sorry. Scott Weiland was the writer of those words. He just said them a little creepier and he omitted the word "not.

It was John Lennon who said "He got joo joo eyeball".

Paul McCartney said "the butter wouldn't melt so I put it in the pie".

I don't have any stats but I'm enjoying the thread... Carry On...

It would have been nicer to simply port over the BYTO fun with numbers thread... lots of gems in there. You can find it here.

Or at least for those not familiar with this thread, maybe it would be a chance to see how it worked over there. I think it will die tomorrow when RP pulls the ventilator plug.

Plouffe's SLG% over the last 3 weeks (.788) is higher than the OPS of anyone on the team not named Mauer or Willingham.

And the 33 singles included in there has to be far and away the most in that span.

That's how it's done, TD.

First attempt at posting failed (don't worry, Pig...user error). I will now try the "Post Quick Reply" button. Change sucks.
