You can lead a dog to water but you can't make him pee?

No No... A Horse by any other name!!!

Turn the game back on and now the Twins are losing 5-1. Pelfrey is headed for 15 or more losses if he keeps pitching this way.

Just posted this in the Mauer thread! I know Mauer isn't a speed guy, but in virtually every other aspect, Joe would be perfect at the leadoff spot for this team. The catcher barrier has been broken -- let's make it happen!

You guys need to stop all of this crazy talk. You do realize that a leadoff man has to run real fast? Screw the OBP stuff, he just needs to run reaaaaaaaal fast.

Careful, you'll make him appear.

Riverbrian mentioned the ruby slippers. I think the hope is he appears in Kansas. (KC or Omaha - either way is fine.)

A's love Barton despite his not being able to hit or bat more than 100 times a year.

I've got this stupid inside-out swing, and take everything to the opposite field, even when the ball is thrown right down the middle.

Odds on Pelfrey or Anderson saying he felt real good during his pen session?

Let Mauer lead off. bat Suzuki or Pinto second. Let Dozier bat 3rd and put the "speed" at the end if the lineup. That will make everyone go crazy, except the Sabre-masters

Pinochio?

I wouldnt ask him... I'd run a scientific analysis. Petrie dish... Microscope... Gloves... Gloves for sure. A sample of the beard and analysis of the sample.

I think its possible... You'd find Billy Gibbons himself inside that beard.

(Reference already explained by ashburyjohn)

But yes. Good glove work is important in all fields, especially science.

I approve.

Kipling? Not so much.

I'm more a fan of Rudyard.

I too am a fan of Rudyard.

And now, back to the game, where i hope to see a twin or two go Rudyard...

Harry Doyle: [Deduno is coming out to pitch] So, here is Sam Dedunothe one they call the "Wild Thing". So, he sets and deals.
[Deduno throws a wild pitch]
Harry Doyle: Just a bit outside, he tried for the corner and missed.
[
Deduno throws another wild pitch]
Harry Doyle: Ball 4.
[
Deduno throws another wild pitch]
Harry Doyle: Ball 8.
[
Deduno throws another wild pitch]
Harry Doyle: Low, and he walks the bases loaded on 12 straight pitches. How can these guys lay off pitches that close?
I will one day successfully sneak onto the Sportive Podcast, and have nothing intelligent to say or add to the conversation.
