Wait this isn't an argument for a playoff is it? The #1 and #2 teams played, Notre Dame played a good schedule, got a problem with it either finish #2 and do what Alabama did or play them in the regular season. Nobody ever says when the Yankees get eliminated in the first round that they didn't belong in the playoffs, for that matter nobody really says that for the Twins.

I don't think so, they just never faced an opponent of that class, the Tide faced tougher teams throughout conference play. Notre Dame is built on hype and historic sentiment, another "independent" fluffed up schedule to make themselves look better than they are.

It worked though, no way that team should have been No.1 over the team that just steamrolled them.

The whole BCS system is stilled very flawed, and last night proved as much.

I thought the BCS title game was outstanding. Georgia almost pulled it out!

Lol, so true, the actual title game should have been the rematch and probably would have been if not for ND's independent schedule. Two straight years of an all SEC championship would have sent Rick Reilly and the BIG 12 and PAC 10 people right over the edge though, despite the SEC winning the last 7 titles.

I'll bet Katherine Webb helped with the male 18 - 49 demograhpic.

I would wager that Alabama would have smoked any team they played last night. Notre Dame played a representative schedule and won them all, it's not their fault no other team did the same.

Fair enough. But the possible explanations for Manti's story in this thread make Torii uncomfortable.

Hard not to still see this guy as complicit to some degree. He clearly lied and embellished quite a bit to aid the story if nothing else.
