Stumbled across this story this morning. The Twins have signed Patrick Arnold, a former Nationals farmhand. His minor league numbers don't exactly jump out (http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=arnold001pat). Sure enough, he's coming back from an injury. But he seems like a quality guy who is pretty involved with his community:
Arnold’s also helping encourage young baseball players to continue playing the game here closer to home.
The West Virginia Baseball Conference will field teams for 13- to 14-year-old kids, and the games will be played at the Kennedy Center along Route 2 outside of Huntington.
If you’re interested in signing up, contact Dan’s Sports Shop at (304) 523-1974.
Welcome to the Twins, Patrick.
