Off-day for Willingham, hopefully that will rejuvenate him

Dozier's first start against Weaver... that could be rough. Let's hope not.

Fair enough. I like Dozier being thrown into the two-spot for his first game for excitement purposes, but I would prefer Mauer there. Maybe not with Willingham and Morneau out, I guess.
I bet Carroll hits better down there, and I like he and Span still back-to-back.

I agree that Carroll hitting in front of Span is a nice combo. I'd prefer to see Mauer at the #2 with someone else at the #3 but option are limited. Gardy always likes a MI hitting 2nd but skills and not position should dictate that.

I really like Dozier in the 2 spot. I hope it sends a message that he's their guy for the future and they have faith in his abilities.

I am just glad that they are keeping Carroll's glove in the lineup, despite the fact that Casilla has about the same range and might even hit a little better and run a little faster.
Last year, the Twins didn't have a great fielding MI combo with so many guys injured, but Carroll has done an excellent job of playing short and gaining camraderie and being a great double play duo with Casilla

I have a feeling that one of the first six Twins hitters will spoil Weaver's chance for a second no-hitter.

Joe C explained some of the lunacy in the lineup: Willingham has some sort of a virus (aka "flu" but not influenza, really) and Casilla has a sore shoulder from a dive in Seattle

Ok, so once again, the entirety of the Twins bench will consist of Drew Butera? Can we please drop a pitcher?

Let us pray that you are correct! And a run or two would also be nice.

Vegas O/U on Twins baserunners in this game is 6 per my bookie. This is the lowest O/U he can ever remember since the 1980's! Shows just how embarrassing this lineup is.
Hoping the revenge factor provides some otherwise lacking motivation. No team enjoys being no hit.
Question: If Weaver has a no-no going in the 8th, does he rush into the clubhouse again to take a whiz?

I would have bet the under.

I would have bet the under.
I was strongly considering the under as well but decided to hope for a miracle. Didn't fully realize Willingham is out which makes the lineup worse than over 1/2 the AAA lineups in minors.
Now just hoping for 1 hit which is terribly sad. Has there ever been a MLB team so putrid that you just pray for 1 measly hit????

At least there's been some solid contact. That's different from last week.

And Liriano serves up yet another gopher ball. Time to use a tee instead...

Liriano needs to go to the bullpen -- we have no chance with him starting.

3-0 already. This has to be Liriano's final start with the Twins, right?

Why....why.....why......do you throw that pitch to that chump!!!????? I'm yell posting in LARGE FONT until we get a hit!!!!

Now can we actually score a run with men on 1st and second and no outs, or will we get another double play?

Bases loaded with one out if Plouffe runs the paths like a big leaguer. I suppose that Gardy's fault though for the trigger happy amongst us.

Dear Joe Mauer, I'm a fan of yours, I stood by you last year while nearly everyone else wanted to burn you in effigy, you are a tremendous athlete by all accounts. However you do earn 23 million dollars a year and I expect you to hit the f*****g baseball!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks

Valencia's approach at the plate is amongst the worst in baseball.

Valencia needs Rochester time. Liriano needs bullpen time. Parmelee was done an injustice and should be done in Rochester. Gray, Maloney, and Swarzak need DFAing.

Amen brother.
On a separate note, as a fellow fan of Denard I have to say he needs to make that play though, Bourjos makes that play all night long.

Really? Which 1/2?
And I'd say there are certain personality types that have that mindset a lot.
